the absolute manic energy that robert pattinson exudes in his latest gq magazine interview omg
i saw the first two lines and assumed that was just his reaction to learning about midnight sun
ROBERT PATTINSON GQ / 2020 › ph. by himself in London
“Oh if you know what I am willing to give just to have your head on my shoulder, to feel the rise and fall of your chest against mine, to wear your smile on my lips and have your muffled laughter underneath the covers at 3 in the morning. If only you know what I would give just to have you here with me.”

“I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the Earth. Then I ask myself the same question.”
— Harun Yahya
Mysterious Cover for Historic Detective
Did you know that Edgar Allen Poe wrote the first detective novels? The three short mysteries are widely acknowledged to be the first detective novels ever penned and they heavily influenced Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series.
I was asked by the publishers Pushkin Vertigo to design the cover that would seem ‘gifty’ and have a festive feel. The final books are embellished with copper foil.
Set in Paris during the mid-nineteenth century, the brilliant Chevalier Auguste Dupin investigates three grisly and confounding mysteries. On reading the books I was surprised by how much had been appropriated from Poe’s ingenious puzzle solver since it was written; the pipe by synonymous with Holmes, the trusty companion who also narrates the story, and their armchair discussions while gleaning clues from newspapers.
I love it when there’s some significance to the patterns and flourishes used in the artwork so I set about hunting for my own visual clues to use in the design.
For the border surrounding the cover I drew little macabre icons such as skulls, headstones and blood drops that reflect the morbid subject matter in the stories. These were woven into a lacework pattern that also references a central theme in the second story. My favourite part is the little Parisian skyline with Notre Dame peeking through.
More similar work here:
"If I knew I was going to fall this in love,
Maybe I would have read the warning signs first."
- you're worth every risk
Fatigue
I want to cry and fall in the arms of a stranger Wet their collar with tears they would somehow understand Or at least not question I have no more words for it. I have spoken enough And no one would listen I want to sit down in a park at night and lay my head on the soft moss Or press my ear to the glistening pavement. Hear the bustle of the city Feel the curve of the earth, like a wave, closing over me I am tired. I need tenderness I need someone to take the emptiness away I want something to touch me. To connect Make the loneliness stop Before I trip and break my composure, this overworked bone Before I slip through a crack in the pavement Tonight, I am nearly small enough I’ve already been snapped in two

we need to believe in something more than midnight kisses, knights in shining armour and happily ever afters.
- M.L
And I swear I almost loved you – In a useless, bitter way, I almost loved you.
We were so nearly something. Not in a nostalgic, rueful manner – I’m glad I never loved you quite in the way a romantic relationship required; we were horrible communicators, I cared too much about the little things and not enough about the big,
We would have been hopelessly mismatched, we probably narrowly missed a bullet
And you probably would have made me happy.
Why am I writing this? I’m being so selfish again, But your smile is alluring and intriguing and beautiful, and I’ll always love the stormy blue of your eyes, The playful, deliberate way you’d choose your words, Always slightly amused
How do I tell you that I love you, But not quite enough?
And I’ll always love you, always miss you, in that unique, useless kind of way.
I really miss you, damnit,
Your effortless intelligence, Your suspense, drama, regality – You’re so beautiful, and you probably don’t know.
I’m so sick of everything that I can’t talk about

“If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever.” PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005)
