I’m drawing a Zora based on each in-game fish—today, the Armored Carp!

Calcida is from a long line of revered Zora soldiers, honored for their strength. He is a quiet and serious young man who would rather spend his time honing his skills rather than engaging in small talk and idle chatter. He prefers to keep to keep to himself. In addition to a warrior, he is an apprentice blacksmith, and spends a great deal of his time honing the perfect armor to wear in battle. He takes great pride in his craft, and views each piece of armor as both a battle in and of itself and a work of fine art; the best offense is an unsurpassable defense. He and his twin sister Akkaru are inseparable—both as a battle team and as friends.

Akkaru is from a long line of revered Zora soldiers, honored for their strength. She holds herself to the highest of standards to live up to her family legacy—failure is never an option. She is strict, regimented, and always professional. As far as she is concerned, every waking minute should be in the service of protecting the Domain and its king. She has no interest in jewelry or ornamentation, and even forgoes armor entirely for the sake of a very aggressive combat style; the best defense is an unstoppable offense. She and her twin brother Calcida are inseparable—both as a battle team and as friends.

Welcoming Gift Quest (pt 1)

Sidon just wanted to say hello to Nayela, but her friends say otherwise 😔 So! Looks like he has to ask a certain hero to help him~

Pike has been a character I’ve rather neglected to draw for years, he was made back in 2019 when I had gotten into a big Zora character mood, based off of a black tipped reef shark Pike is Queen Yona’s personal Royal guard who accompanied her to The Zora Domain to continue his duty to protect her, while there he is eventually stationed to help with efforts at Look out landing, where he meets the Rito sweet shop owner Penny, who he falls for despite his hard demeanor.

This is Varsh. Although smaller than most Zora, Varsh is still quite the renowned warrior, all thanks to his unique trait—he’s barely harmed by electricity. While most Zora are especially vulnerable to shocks, Varsh can take them head on, and often coats his daggers in juice from voltfruit. He’s a quiet and serious-minded young man who is dedicated to his training above all else, and has spent the past few decades travelling Hyrule in search of new battle techniques to study. His intense expression often discourages others from approaching him, but beneath the surface, Varsh is terribly lonely, and craves connection with others.

Dinanzel was adopted by an elderly Goron soldier as a young guppy, and was raised in the steaming hot springs of Death Mountain. He only visit Zora’s Domain once, but the experience ended poorly, and he never went back. He’s as competitive as he is hotheaded, and is stubborn to a fault. Once he makes his mind up about something, there’s no convincing him otherwise. Although loyal to those who earn his trust, his brutish and prideful attitude turn off most potential friends. He’s always looking for a new way to prove himself. Dinanzel spends what seems like every hour of every day training, determined to hone his strength and skill, and become an ever-more powerful warrior.

Wasn’t sure about the colors at first, but I like how it turned out! This is Chidra. Having been fascinated by weather since she was a young guppy, when Chidra grew up she decided to travel out to Hebra to study meteorology. She’s a polite and passionate young woman who spends most of her time hiking the mountains charting snowdrift and tracking glaciers. When she isn’t traveling the mountains, she comes back to rest and (attempt to) make friends in Rito Village. She tends to be forgetful and often gets lost in her work, but her brilliance is unmatched. Thanks to her studies, she’s begun experimenting with using Zora magic to manipulate ice in the same matter others manipulate water.

Despite her small stature, Minoka’s speed, agility, and especially her stamina make her one of the most talented swimmers in all of Zora’s Domain. She’s a natural-born athlete—but you would never be able to guess it. Minoka is laid-back, easy going, and above all else, lazy. She can often found napping in shady places, and will always find a way to get out of any serious duties. Her dream is to run her own inn on the beach one day. (Her family suspects she only wants to run an inn so she can be surrounded by cozy beds to sleep in whenever she wants. And they aren’t completely wrong.)
