So I have a new obsession....

This is Planet Zoo. It's a game I've had my eye on for a few years, mostly because I enjoyed messing around with Zoo Tycoon years ago. The summer sale on Steam has a decent deal on a bundle that includes all but the most recent DLC animal pack, so I decided to buy it.

I'm still figuring out how it works. I built a pathetic little zoo with (so far) two animal habitats in the game's main playing mode where you're cash-limited, etc., but I'm also messing around with the unlimited sandbox mode to figure out how to build more interesting-looking things. This is a random bit of stream that I dug out and am decorating, probably "inspired" by all the kayaking I've been doing lately.

And holy hell do I wish TS3 had build tools like this!! LOL I mean, you can rotate every object on three axes plus raise them above and lower them into the ground and freely place them wherever. And the terrain paints blend seamlessly into the 3D objects such that you can hardly tell what's paint and what's object. If you could recolor objects and shrink/enlarge them, it'd be mind-blowing, but as is it's pretty awesome.
