ive been really into the original Zoo Tycoon lately. it's the one game i've played consistently since i was little. i put it on every single computer i've ever owned, and because it's so old, it will run on fucking anything.

i've played ZT1 since 2003, but i never really played it as it was meant to be played. instead, i would cheat myself millions of dollars and just create for awhile, then inevitably lose interest.

well i recently decided i should play the game as it's meant to be played, so i did a couple of the scenario challenges the game comes with and became completely obsessed.

here are some screenshots of my current project! it is now December of year 7, and i've never cheated once; my zoo is extremely profitable and has won many awards for exhibit quality and guest satisfaction. one thing i've always struggled with in this game is visuals and attractions. i used to hate the process of decorating a zoo, but this time im pouring my entire heart into it, and tbh i am super happy with how it's coming around!

my next project for this zoo is to build a unicorn exhibit :) thanks for reading. i hope you enjoy these screenshots!

1. Get an idea for a zoo

2. Start the entrance

3. Spend 5 hours building the best entrance ever

4. Start work on a habitat

5. Give up after an hour because you can't get it to look right

6. Don't touch the game for months until the next DLC is announced
