Whoo, super long nose tutorial! I’m sure there’s heaps I didn’t mention in this but this is generally how I approach it - the main thing is to check out references and try and draw different noses, it’ll help you create more diverse characters and have fun with it without being afraid of drawing the nose (since it’s genuinely one of my favourite things to draw).

the weaponization of positivity stretches beyond that. fred and george weasley’s inventions, meant for laughter, turn into arms against umbridge’s regime. and after their departure from hogwarts, their joke shop becomes not only the single bright spot in diagon alley (literally & figuratively) but a hub of defensive magic. the whole weasleys’ wizard wheezes narrative serves as maybe the clearest example in the series that happiness can act as both shield and sword.

there is something deeply empowering in a depiction of happiness as something so tangible and usable. as a profoundly depressed person, i often feel myself scrounging for happy memories and clutching them close; i find myself grasping for laughter in the dark. the physicalization of expecto patronum is not a quantum leap from reality. the boggart’s laughter as combat fuel, the weasleys’ levity as not just a choice but a difficult and defiant one—it’s all familiar.

This is hard, and I rarely ask for any kind of help with money, yet in this case I need it.

I need help in paying a $500 USD bill on an overdrawn account. I have two weeks to do this, otherwise I lose my next pay to this monster. I am on thin enough ice IRL that not having money to pay  board would be a unmitigated disaster, and likely turn the abuse I - and my SO - already face worse.

The overdrawn is though no fault of my own; my bank account should not have been able to allow that to happen but did due to some error in the system, and  while the bank could help, the only real option is one that is *incredibly awkward* due to my IRL situation.  My SO has already helped - the bill was a lot higher than this - yet he’s unable to help further due to his own financial obligations.
