“girls only like classic rock to impress boys!”
the only boys we are trying to impress are the old men who are in the bands

Roger Taylor: Queen Scrabble sessions ‘got too serious'
Queen couldn’t get enough of Scrabble
by Rich Chamberlain published February 03, 2011 // music radar.com
Relevant snippet from the very short article:
He said: “Fred and I used to love Scrabble. We all played, but it got a bit too serious so that the other two would drop out, Freddie was brilliant because he could score more with fewer tiles. I was pretty much his match, I think.”
He added: “Brian got the most points I have I’ve ever seen with one word, which was 168. Can I remember what that word was? Yes, Lacquers. Q on the triple, all seven letters, triple word. Work it out.”
I can’t believe we have never gone into exactly what ‘it got too serious’ meant. I mean: too serious for Brian ‘serious is my middle name’ May and John ‘can anyone look more serious’ Deacon? Imagine them for once being the ones saying ‘come on guys lighten up it’s just scrabble’ and Freddie and Roger turning on them snarling ‘IT’S FUCKING SCRABBLE SHUT UP’
This is such a good point, like… Was it a similar situation to those times when, apparently, Brian used to storm out of the Ferry Road flat and tell them he’s going to his parents for the weekend because Freddie and Roger wouldn’t stop fighting? lol
