OC#2: Darren Cooper (Proxies)
Darren Cooper, FBI Agent. Been in the field for sometime, roughly 4-5 years. However, most his work doesn't quite meet the quota to stay as an active agent. He was set up for failure. In a last sitch effort, he was sent off to look into a case that went dry with no new leads for years. A job that if they can pump new life into it, he can keep his job. The case itself? The murder of Halloween 1989 Tv Special. A halloween special that went completely wrong, causing the death of 4 crewmembers in a small town. As the town and FBI tried to find new leads, they hit a road block after the next. Causing it to be left behind and unsolved.
Said halloween special was taking a look at the disappearance of children of the town. The reason for its intrigued and mystery is that each time a kid goes missing, the investigation ends within a 3-4 week period. Each kid also being roughly the ages of 14-18. Alongside that, the woods of the town are no longer to be entered after a political change in the town. Ignoring their warnings and threats, the group venture into the woods trying to see if they make a connection to the disappearances. However, their special was cut short as the only thing that can be made out of what their fate was, is a swing of an axe. Hitting the camera man and causing it to fall to the ground. The broadcast ended but the full footage still remained in that very town. Darren believes that the murders and disappearances are connected.
Once he made it to the town and checked in with the main police station, he starts to dig around the town's rich histroy. After peeking around in the local library and chatting with the folk, he was able to connect said disappearances with a local legend known as, "The Slenderman."
The main question that hanuts him is either, why did these kids disappeared? And where are they now?
During these investigations, when it was time to rest. He would receive these very guresome, vauge, riddle-like dreams. Dreams thst flux and shift everytime he passed out. One can be in the library, the next a place with clue/key.
One of the places he dreamt of, was an empty building with a log cabin aesthetic to it. Nestled deep into the forest. Has he made his way out into the woods, he was soon chased by an individual that carried a hatchet. Everytime he dreamed, most ended him dying by accident ir in brutal, guresome ways. And when each time it ended, a segment of thst special would play, before waking up.
Deep down, there's a fate waiting for Darren. It's been written and years in the making, question is, will it happen? What would happen?
One of the town folk told him something before Darren started his investigation into the woods.
"These woods belong to the devil. Sharp teeth those pines are. And we are goods children, and he wouldn't want us to play within the beast's mouth"
