got a comment on my instagram post today saying āitās so unfair she is aceāā¦ thereās a lot wrong with that statement, for starters it makes me feel really uncomfortable. but it also includes a major assumption about all asexual people thatās just not true and i always like to use that as an opportunity to educate people. for any other sexuality, it isnāt about how much sex you have, so why do we still assume asexuality is about having no sex. itās about sexual attraction (and letās not forget sexuality is a spectrum and some ace people still experience sexual attraction), which doesnāt tell you anything about someoneās comfort with intimacy. how about we let ace people be, and stop speculating on their sex lives at all because itās no oneās business either way. we can talk about ace people without jumping to conclusions about their sex lives and reducing the whole community to āpeople who donāt have sexā. itās not accurate representation. this also isnāt me saying anything about my own private life, my point is you never know! i wish people wouldnāt speculate about it at all because it makes me very uncomfortable and itās not something you need to know about me!! so letās all stop assuming and spreading misinformation and let people tell you about themselves if they feel comfortable and let it go if they donāt ā¤ļø
