You are SO right bestie!

I LOVE how much these two get in each other’s hair. I think in a lot of ways they’re two sides of the same coin! Spike is Mr.dwell-on-the-past, strong, silent, cool guy who moves like water. And although water is Faye’s motif, she is all fire - plus she doesn’t have a past to dwell on, and she’s never silent or reserved like Spike.

But both are trapped by their past potentially catching up to them, to the point where they can only take the present one day at a time, and aren’t even able to think about any kind of future.

We’ve already been shown in Cowboy Funk that Spike HATES people who are like him, and honestly I think that’s where most of his annoyance (and compassion) for Faye stems from. I’ll get into this more when I publish my stupid rant on how Spike’s feelings for the crew/Faye specifically begin to change after Jupiter Jazz, but basically I think it’s seeing the moments of vulnerability in Faye that really endear her to him. Ship them or not, he at least *cares* about her. (but also they’re madly in love)

That was a long winded way of saying YES I fucking love how much they fight.

There’s so much feeling behind it! It’s also such a mask. And I think Jet would agree those two just need to get it out of their system and fuck already. Because they’re annoying the shit out of him.
