The obvious example, in my mind, of the gender aspect is the airbender genocide. It wasn't done because they, or aang, were seen as more effeminate or anything of that sort. It was simple, Machiavellian actions, though he would disapprove I think. They had the avatar who would be a child at the time. They can resist the war. Therefore kill them all to both prevent them and to wipe out the avatar. He/She will return in time, but it'll be pushed back even more.

This then plays into the southern water tribe bender cultural and later on killing genocide. The avatar would be a waterbender. Pin them down and lock them up and you've won. They try this on Aang in fact before someone, cough cough zuko, break in. Interestingly, this also shows a more Machiavellian empire versus an evil one. One committed genocide and so made themselves hated. The other did swift cruelty but stopped once they had the benders (as they only returned when rumors spread if the dialogue is any indication). They made themselves feared, but also not hated. Not hated in the sense that they would've returned the benders unharmed once they won, before Hama of course.

Games like Rimworld and Stellaris have dedicated mechanics created to facilitate crimes against sapient life, but the developers of the Sims never expected that people would start selective breeding programs and lock their ugliest children in the basement art sweatshop

Aggressive, violent? Yes.

Danger to those around him? Yes.

Danger to himself? He literally tried to get himself struck by lightning.

Criminal? Yes, in the eyes of both the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom.

Danger to legitimate governments? Yes, as a matter of fact he’ll end up being involved in overthrowing the governments of both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation within the next six months.

Threat to Team Avatar? You bet it!

Loyal to an evil father? Yes.

Untrustworthy? Book 2 Zuko is notoriously fickle in his allegiances. He even betrays Iroh!

Mentally unwell? Hell yes.

Stories will tell us: "oh they lost/gained a little weight and need to buy new clothes." Or in the same vein, "she just found out she was pregnant and didn't want people to know just yet so she bought new clothes." Or "suddenly none of his clothes fit so he had to buy all new ones." Or "they grew taller so they needed new clothes."

And it's like. Oh! Okay! So you don't know how clothing works before the invention of sewing machines. Like. At all! You don't know what large seam allowances or like, fasten/wrap to fit clothing looks like. You are not aware of like, loom width measurements being a factor here.
