Kicksie - Slouch
Kicksie's new album "Slouch" is so good, Giuliana's one-woman chorus work is still exasperatingly pleasant, and there is always a guitar sound somewhere, offering a variety of styles but never losing the indie momentum.
In a word, COOL.
Mixed this song.
The funk sound (even including the vulgar part) has been the basis of Tavasco's world for over 40 years to my ears, and that element is still indispensable.
But there is also something sweet and fragile in their music nowadays. Isn't it good, too?
Since it's a spring song, I found a link to Misaco + Otherz's “A Life in Calm" on a tweet. I listened to Misaco + Otherz's 1st album through for the first time in a while, and it's so good. It's a great album.

Today, I released a new song called “ふるさとは阿佐ヶ谷".
It is a song about my friends in Asagaya, a small town in Tokyo.
I've been living in Asagaya since my grandfather's generation, and I still live in the southern edge of the city, and I have a band called Asagayans and a label called Asagahyans Records. Ah, yes.
Releasing a single has a certain motive.
"Where Do All Souls Go?" was from the death of my cat that I spent 20 years with.
"R U Happy?" was from the confused feeling regarding Russia and Ukraine.
I have my reasons for releasing this song, but as I mentioned before, I basically don't care about the background of the music, so please listen to the song in any way.
I had completely forgotten to tell you that three kittens came into our home. Two boys and a girl. They are very rambunctious and running around so wild. What a happy year end!
I have never suffered from things like she had had; sexual minority, drug addiction, or family situation, but the sadness or painful uncomfortableness that floats in this song still shakes the heart of even those who live such a loose and stupid life like me.
This makes me cry.

A Man Called Joji Ito
There was a man called Joji Ito. He was a musician, an actor, a playwright, and always a lovable drunkard.
Roughly 20 years ago, I composed music for three of his theatre plays; the "Joji Ito Produces" series.
It's three years since we lost him.
Now I release those numbers to dedicate to his memory.
You can get them for free. All I ask you is just to have a glass of beer or whiskey or anything to give cheers to Joji Ito.

I was working this and that with Élise Bertrand's "Lettera Amorosa" in the background, picking it up from a list of new releases. It often catches my ear and stopped my hands. The jacket cover is very impressive. I searched around and read the profile and other information a bit. It seems that the disc is not out yet, only in advance distribution. This young lady plays violin, piano, and composes. The sound is strong, the notes sit perfectly in my heart, and it is very intense. It's like the surprise I felt when I met Yvette Young, though they are from the very different fields.

A lacertid on the red list in Tokyo?
A while ago, I read an article that "Kanahebi (a lacertid)" is in danger of extinction in Tokyo. Lacertids look cute and cool, don't they? And I like them. I even wrote a song called "Kanahebaby" for BakaNeko Project. Maybe it's because I live in an area with green even among 23 wards, I see them so often. I cannot believe that a lacertid is at a crisis in existing. Incidentally, I saw three of them today in our extremely small garden. I don't mean that I saw one three times. Three of them at a time. I wonder if they are really decreasing at the level of endangered species.
Getting tired of it by now, I still continue to play the spotify playlist game. This month, again the theme is the moon.
