i get that he’s probably still off the grid and i know he has anxieties surrounding social media, but it’s really important to speak up for someone in his position. it doesn’t take much effort to at least put out a statement and share some links to useful resources to support the cause. hell, he could even have his team do it on his behalf if he can’t or doesn’t want to go on social media. they do most of his social media anyway.

i know that celebrities aren’t the be all end all of activism (and they shouldn’t be!), but his silence really doesn’t sit well with me and i’m saying this as a white person. i can’t even imagine how his black fans must feel. he is a rich white man with millions of followers. by sharing information/resources and by donating, he can actually really help out. it’s really vital that everyone is vocal about this right now if we want to implement change and that especially includes people like him, who have the platform and the funds. i hope he’s been doing something to help in the past week and i hope he and/or his team says something soon.
