So for quick context: Sunny and March used to challenge each other to all sorts of things, and as a prize for the victor one of the things they’d do is that they’d either treat each other to lunch or dinner. So eating together at the inn soon became a normal thing for them, and it’s also how they got closer.
Then they started dating and now both of them having to figure out what makes this any different.

Made this back when I first saw KPDH for the first (few) times 😂 As fun as it is to imagine your OC as a demon hunter, I really felt like Sunny would fit as a demon and gave into self-indulgence.

Well, today is Father’s Day in my timezone, so here’s another thing I drew months ago with March, now a little older (and a ponytail) and embracing his daughter.
Meet the eldest of March and Sunny’s kids, local spitfire hellion Marigold.
Goldie looked up to her father ever since she was young. She always knew that she wanted to be a skilled blacksmith just like him! When she wasn’t helping her Mapa (gender neutral parental term that Sunny’s kids settled on calling them) at the farm or being babysat by Olric, this lil ball of energy was by the forge watching March work—from a safe distance (much to her disappointment).
Regardless of how protective and firm March is as a parent, he loves his daughter to bits and almost never fails to spoil her (unless she’s trying to follow Sunny into the mines again or trying to heat beach sand into glass). Regardless of the chaos, he loves his lil ball of energy and mischief.
Some small design (and other headcanon) notes under the cut!
- The golden strands in Marigold’s hair are actually natural! As to why… there’s lore reasons for that in regards to Sunny that I’ll eventually get to talking about in depth. :) When she gets older, she adds red strands in her hair.
- The stitches on her clothes have relevance in Sunny’s own culture, which puts significance in embroidery. Notably, parents would sew patterns into the clothing of their children, usually of flowers or or other things that symbolize what they’d wish for them (snowdrop anemones for protection and health, and in Marigold’s case, her namesake flowers because Sunny never wants her to hold back being herself). For certain reasons, Sunny can’t go back to their hometown, but that’s why they try to find ways to still share this part of their life with their children.
- In a sense, something March and Sunny have in common is that they express affection through the things they make for each other, and that extends to their kids. March would eventually be making something for his daughter too (a golden hairclip that looks like a marigold that can’t be seen cuz it’s behind her hair fnsdicmew). I think handicraft is definitely something that reoccurs in this family.
- According to Olric, Marigold takes after her father when she smiles (most of the time—if she smiles like Sunny that means she’s plotting something).
- If any of Sunny’s loved ones/close friends let them play with their hair, they’re bound to weave flowers into it or style it to whatever they wish. Hence why March decided he wanted to grow his hair out a little. He can’t help but like the way their fingers feel on his locks. He used to be surprised with how gentle Sunny’s hands could be despite knowing how their punches could shatter rocks.
Pretty much sums up how they react to mischief they directly or indirectly cause—though it’s even funnier to them when serendipitous irony comes to play and they don’t even have to do anything.
