Ryis and Landen have a new neighbor now... 👀

I've been feeling a bit under the weather recently so I did comparatively lighter projects to keep myself occupied, and I ended up making Cheri's house exterior. Another thing crossed off my list which is also another step towards making them more 'real'!

Cherry Blossom Abode (Wiki)

I for one am glad that Mistria's seasonal overlays for buildings are mostly just palette swaps. I would say 50% the work is rendering the snow for the winter version, 30% making the base building (which is surprisingly easy given how simplistic the style is), and 20% exporting all the variants I've made.

Cheri's home is inaccessible until you've reached 4 hearts with them, mostly because they have not finished fixing it. This state is represented by the leftmost design; I enjoyed adding the wear and tear. Once you reach 4 hearts, you can go in the house (and possibly catch Cheri in their loungewear at certain hours!), which is also the trigger for their 4-heart event.

The third variant in the image above is for a married Cheri; it can be with March or the Player, depending on circumstances. I loved how the crane sculpture(s) turned out!)

The Upgrade

Eventually, you can help Cheri upgrade the house to accommodate Chihiro's move to Mistria. This upgrade adds an extension to the house plus some new exterior decor. Shown here are decor versions for an unmarried vs. married Cheri, because the plotline with Chihiro will happen post-10 hearts regardless of her relationship status.

HAHA so I've actually thought about this for a while but this question made me try to find an example for Fiore! Neither of them have specific voice claims, but there are links below that are close to what I imagine them to sound like

i haven’t shared all that much about my farmers here. god knows i have so many of them that i should probably get a head start!

things to know about Seraphina:

⭐️ her mothers were travelling bards, and were relatively well known during their time. one of Seraphina’s only (and fondest) memories of them is of her dancing in circles as they played

⭐️ her mothers died when she was extremely young, of a contagious illness they both contracted while they were travelling

⭐️ she was then raised by her uncle, Oliver, with whom she’s very close. they write back and forth almost weekly, no matter where she is, and he gifted her the star clips she always wears (sometimes one, sometimes both) when she joined the Adventurer’s Guild. they belonged to her mama (a wedding gift, from Seraphina’s mum)

⭐️ Seraphina is a bit… odd, in the way she interacts with the world around her. her speech is stilted, a little too formal and old-fashioned. her uncle calls her an “old soul”. she finds it a little hard to relate to others; at least, she does until she moves to Mistria. she applied for that job listing as soon as she saw it, with an urgency she didn’t understand

⭐️ she used to have extremely vivid dreams as a child, and used to tell her uncle all about them - tales of stone dragons, of knights, of magic. she’d insist to him that she had to go home, that he needed her. she doesn’t remember who “he” is, nor does she really even remember the dreams, save for what Oliver has told her

⭐️ she can be a bit intense to talk to, but she’s so genuine that it often circles back from awkward to strangely charismatic. she has this passion for whatever she’s doing that can be infectious. her laugh is melodic and loud, like an evening bell

⭐️ she gives other people the full of her focus. when you talk to her, you know she’s giving all her attention to you and you alone

⭐️ she adores being outside. she’s as at home with her toes in the sand and her lungs filling salt air as she watches the tide come in, as she is deep in the forest, laying on a bed of moss and taking a nap in dappled sunlight

⭐️ she doesn’t just talk to her farm animals and pets - she has entire conversations. the animals make noises back. to an outside observer it would seem like they understand each other completely

⭐️ nicknames she accepts from others: Sera
