So now that Episode 9 is fully out, can I take a moment to talk about this scene?

LOOK AT HIS FACE

This is the first time he’s being told, and probably the first time he’s even entertaining the notion, that he’s capable of being loved for who he is and not just what he does. That he has inherent worth simply because he exists. That just… for how heavy this whole episode was, that hit me the hardest, I think.

Anyways, little bit of a personal rant, but I relate to Caine so much in this sense. I used to think that I was useless and would fear that I would be abandoned or shunned if I couldn’t perform a certain task, whether it be getting good grades, following instructions properly, or even creating my own art. I’m still grappling with the idea that people will like me just for being myself rather than what I can provide, but we’re getting there gang 🫡
