Here’s a decent gif set of some of the scenes I animated for Castlevania, spare the last scene. I actually animated the majority of the cyclops sequence.

I’m not allowed to make these, so I’ve been waiting on someone else to do it.

A selection of the work I did this year at Tokkun Studio for the game Zodiac, created by Kabojo. I’ve been told that legally I must mention all that.

I certainly did a lot of learning on this project. I’d never tried animating designs this detailed before, and I was working on a team with far more experience than I had.

I finally got clearance to show my rough animation from Castlevania! I did a lot of animation for this show so I’m going to release these through several posts each week, starting with this one.

For the Alucard vs Trevor sequence there wasn’t enough time in the schedule for me to finish out the animation, so I completed a first pass and the drawings were sent over to Korea for the artists at MUA Film to to tie down.

Here’s another round of my rough animation for Castlevania. I animated most of these during the revision process to help along scenes we wanted a little more impact from. Since they were scattered throughout the episodes, I thought I’d do a side by side so you can see how the roughs got translated into the final product.

Next week I’ll post the sequence where the majority of my animation effort went. I hope you’ll look forward to it.

Here’s my rough animation for cyclops sequence from Castlevania. I got to storyboard this sequence as well, which was a first for me. Up until then I’d never had that level of control over anything I’d worked on in the animation industry.

Out of everything I did for season one, this is by far what I worked the hardest on. I’m glad I’m finally getting to show it.

Here’s my animation for the opening credits of Castlevania without the bells and whistles of compositing.

Not only did I get to develop the style for this part, but it’s the only piece of animation in the show where my original drawings aired without any sort of clean up.

Out of everything I did for the first season of Castlevania, this was the part I had the most control over.

I finally get to share these photos from Powerhouse Animation’s trip to Seoul! We were visiting our partners, MUA Film, to check out their progress on Castlevania, and got to snap a bunch of photos of their keys! It was amazing to see these lovely drawings still done on paper!

The opening of episode 1 was an area I expended a good amount of effort providing keys, draw-overs, and direct model reference for. Nailing down Dracula’s expressions is still one of the highlights of working on season 1 for me!

Small sampling of key drawings provides of Trevor to help establish his look and personality early on in episode 2! Goofy Trevors are the most important thing.
