Okay so

DID itself is a dissociative disorder that impacts your memory, your identity, and can often impact how you cope in stressful and traumatic situations. It has a very specific criteria and also symptoms, and according to the DSM 5 it’s this:

As for OSDD, it’s a type of dissociative disorder where you don’t meet the entire criteria of DID but still qualify for a dissociative disorder. It specifically stands for Other Specified Dissociative Disorder, and it’s also sometimes referred to as DDNOS which stands for Dissociative Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (i think). Its a more general disorder while DID is more specific.

OSDD technically has a bunch of subtypes but the most common ones within the system community are 1a and 1b. 1a is when you don’t meet the criteria for distinct alters but still struggle with memory loss and everything else, while 1b is where you are missing the amnesia criteria for the most part but still experience everything else. In a sense, OSDD is technically the milder one but not every OSDD system may experience it that way.
