Okome, the protagonist, is a newcommer to the world of boxing, strong and big but quite girly, while Ishimatsu, who often gets mistaken as a man, is rather lean and lacks strenght despite her life-long passion for the sports.

They both join the same boxing gym at the same time and although they're pretty different, they encourage each other in their own way and have some really fun and sweet interactions.

I like a lot the contrast between them both in term of appearance, skills and personalities. The way they can inspire each other at points make me think they could be super cute together as a ship.

They just look great together and the size difference itself is part of the dynamic, what with Namari's long legs kink. Their shippiest interactions regarding that is unfortunately just bonus content but what a treat it is.

And I really like how Namari, being a fantasy dwarf, is short but bulky, while Kiki is lean. It seems like, when taking two characters with a size difference, the taller one will more often be big and the smaller one thin. So the opposite feels a bit fresh? And can lead to fun ideas when picturing how they'd look and position themselves in sexy situations. Like, Namari could carry Kiki despite being much shorter.

Was thinking about a size difference theme but one ship I've been wanting to talk about has more of an aesthetic/physical contrast thing so I'll go with that wider idea just so I can include them.

The ship is Tempest x Winter from Void: No. Nine / 9-banme no Utsuro, by Shima Shinya. In a SF post-apocalyptic dystopia, they are mysterious agents in charge of directing the main characters, who have been hired to search ruins for old relics of the past.

The story has some pretty neat and intriguing mysteries and worldbuilding and those two characters themselves are very mysterious and morally grey. Unfortunately, the manga was cut short at the 4th volume so a lot of questions/developments couldn't be fully explored but it's still a pretty interesting series and we did get a flashback chapter putting some light on the past of those two.

Shima Shinya makes some really distinctive and lovely charater designs and Winter and Tempest are particularly charming. I love the contrast in their butch and femme styles and Winter's more blocky shapes to Tempest's curvier lines.

We don't know how far their partnership go into their non-professionnal lives but they're always seen together. And with some of the main characters being LGBT+, it did give me the feeling there was a bit of something ambiguous or a light shippiness intended there, though I could be entirely wrong obviously!
