You know, a phrase my father told me today really inspired me (paraphrased because I don't remember exactly his words):
"as humans, it's in our nature to seek to destroy and kill each other, like animals and even bacteria. What's different about us is that we choose to go against our nature to create something together. That's the beauty in us : to go against our very nature and urges."
I think the most ironic (not really but...) is that this discussion took place when I was talking about Ares (more precisely from Hades but hey, let's skip that)
And I can't help but find that rather surprising (on my side.)
He sees beauty in the rawest urges we hold, yet the beauty for us is to overcome those urges to create together instead of destroying each other.
Or well, that's how I see it, and that's why there is an inherent conflict between him and almost everyone. He sees the beauty in the ugly truth, in a way (if I can even say that) but others prefer to see a beauty that overcomes this ugly truth.
To be able to surpass this ugly truth, the craving for violence and answering those emotions, is a way to show divinity, I think.
After all if divinity is about being superior to humans, then not answering those basic urges is a way to show superiority.
When you answer then, you're not better than a human
So what does that makes Ares then ?
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
That's a point of view interesting but only based on my feelings so yeah, basically it's wind.
Which also made me though of a remark someone said on an Hades video (something about how since Ares is openly just a freak while the other gods are trying to hinde that they're a freak it makes him look normal compared to the others Olympians)
Anyway end of communication, please don't lit me on fire
