Rice Pilaf with Marinated Sirloin
Serves 2, Main dish. Recipe includes rice prep, marinate, and steak prep.
Cooking time: ~30 minutes
- 3/4 to 1 pound Sirloin Steak (Tip or top sirloin recommended)
- 1/4 cup AND 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons lime juice (or half a lime, squeezed)
- 2 TABLESPOONS lemon juice (or one large lemon, squeezed)
Combine 1/4 cup Soy sauce, 1/4 cup maple Syrup, x2 TABLESPOONS lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder in a bowl. Whisk until blended.
In a cooking tray, place the steaks on foil, raising all four edges of the foil around the steaks to create a barrier for the marinate so that it won’t spill. Pour marinate over the steaks, and allow to stand for 7-8 minutes PER SIDE. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit during this time, and after 15 minutes total marinating time, place into the oven and cook for 25-30 minutes. You may also use a grill, placing each individual steak in it’s own foil or all together - this may be easier to flip halfway through! Be sure to flip the steaks after 15 minutes cooking.
Follow instructions on instant prep box, adding 1 teaspoon of Soy sauce and 2 teaspoons of lime juice once rice is done. Be sure to mix thoroughly,
Place rice on a plate, steak on top, and add marinate you your preference! (Note: the marinate is a bit strong!)
Additional tip: Red wine makes a fantastic pairing.
