Truth to be told.

I really don't understand baby fever.

I understand that it happens. I understand that its really important for some people. I can even see a bit why its appealing.

But I really don't understand that desire to have kids. Not in a "Why would anyone ever want this, ew, kids are gross why would you want them" way, but in a "I have literally never felt this before and have no idea what it's like, and cannot comprehend the precise drive behind why regardless of how hard I might try."

I don't understand why 'building a family' seems to revolve solely around producing offspring.

Its just such a foreign concept.

I hate babies and kids. They're obnoxious and their parents are their biggest enablers.

Think of a time you see two children chasing each other in a store, nearly running into multiple adults while their mom who was fully aware of it, ignores them and continues to shop like nothing's going on. But if someone yells at her kids to stop, you can imagine how the mom would respond. Pretty Karen-like.

Also, it's a reality that as parents we don't really have full control of our kids. We can try, but we will fail. Think of all the moments you sneaked doing something your parents disapprove, without them finding out. Now think of your children doing all those.

It doesn't matter how righteous you are or can get. You can't pass your qualities to your kids. They're their own individuals and they decide whether they want to follow your footsteps or not.

I just want to clarify with this- hate is a strong word. Kids are innocent and straight up hating them for the act of being a child is a bit unfair. I agree they can be very obnoxious and a lot of parents treat obnoxious children like precious angels that can do no wrong and thus enabling them in their poor behavior when instead they need discipline so they can learn to act right so they can be functional adults. (Which, truly loving a child means you will discipline them. That doesn't mean they need hit, but if youre enabling a child's poor behavior you're setting them up for failure in life and thus, THAT is hating them.)

I do not hate kids. But I also do not like them much. Babies make me uncomfortable. I do not understand what it's like to actively desire having a child. If one is ever in my care I will do my best with them. But I can't promise they'll be happy with it. I'm not great with them. Just overall something I don't comprehend very well. I used to say I hate kids/babies but once I started realizing what to hate someone means, it just started rubbing me wrong to hear/say it.

I never called you bitter. I also wasn't trying to attack you. You were totally right with what you said- I just don't want this to turn into a kid-hating post when the original point was far from that.

Perhaps 'hate' has different weight for me than you. Which is fine, words can effect people in different ways. Like I said, it was just a clarification so the point of my post wouldn't get lost.
