It makes it hard to look away.

Now that he knows what he wants though, well. It's time to do what Lloyd always does when he wants something since coming to this world.

It's time to scheme.

Lloyd is very good at scheming, as Javier could tell you.

Somehow he's found himself crowding his lord up against a wall, both of them faintly flushed. He's terribly, terribly aware of the rapid way both of their hearts are beating (because Lloyd is alive and Javier would burn the world to keep it that way, so help him.)

And because the two of them have been terribly, frighteningly in tune with each other for quite some time these days, it is very clear to Javier what both of them want.

But he just can't do it.

He is a knight.

He is Lloyd's knight, yes, and he's aware that he's no longer quite so- Lloyd would say uptight, and Javier cannot think of a better word right now, with their faces so terribly close together- but he's a knight. Knights don't- he can't-

But then Lloyd's face starts to crumple and turn away. But then his hands come up to Javier's chest to shove at him because Javier's lack of action has hurt him and that is-

Unacceptable.

'This bastard's good at everything,' Lloyd thinks dazedly. There's a hand on his chin to tilt his face up and another around his waist to pull their chests flush together and a tongue in his mouth and he should probably breathe. Somehow. Through his nose, that's right, he's got to... Goodness, if he stops breathing then Javier would stop kissing him and that would be awful. He'd never get the bastard to do it again. Fucking stupid knightly honour, breathe Lloyd, that's it. You know how to fucking breathe. You spend everyday with the most breathtaking man in the world, you'd be dead if you couldn't get over it.

Bastard. If Lloyd dared to open his eyes right now he'd probably still look all perfect and pretty. Lloyd probably looks like a fucking lobster with how hot his face feels.

Then Javier shifts their bodies just so and all of Lloyd's higher brain functions go flying out the window.

The respect part? I agree, after all, they are still humans, but, when it reached 70+ chapters;

their budget was more than enough, as proven by the changes that they made from the novel btw. Lloyd's ugly faces weren't so common and only mentioned once in a while, never brought up in times that would make the moment shallow and dull. They removed Lloyd's fear of going back to Korea because he was so lonely and was suffering so much from the after effects of overworking, and he had to keep working just so he could stay alive after his parents died from suicide because they couldn't take care of the debts, leaving him incapable for having friends because he had to work and work and work, and instead made him have a successful future when he returned which defeats the whole point of what his story was trying to convey and also brushing aside the critique for the source of his poverty.

Should I really respect the author and the artist team who never bothered to keep the story's critiques of in real life problems that were very prevalent in the novel?

They removed Javier's gentle affection for Kim Suho, they made him too playful, they made him willing to jokingly put Kim Suho in danger, when in the novel he would never spare any action of hostility towards his Master, even as a joke. Javier bares his fangs, but never would he ever dream of tearing it onto Kim Suho's skin, nor would he ever try to press it against his flesh after he observed Kim Suho in Lloyd's body.

Novel Javier was careful, he was wary, and at the same time, he was the gentlest with Kim Suho. And yet he still needs Kim Suho to anchor him, without each other, they are doomed by the narrative, they depend on each other and Javier knows it.

Javier was codependent with Kim Suho, and it was mutual. Because Kim Suho knew how Javier would act, Kim Suho loved this main character so much, so much that he knows Javier as a person. If they wanted to change and add into the manhwa so much, they could've done it by elaborating and exploring preexisting dynamics. At least they explored Alicia's character, which I was grateful for, but it just looks like the manhwa team is doing what they want, not adapting a story that clearly had a reoccuring theme of how bad the working system is in korea and an unhealthy codependency with a fictional character.

And to add, in the ending of the novel, Javier didn't get a new look, Javier didn't get older. He went straight for the dragon king's neck just to threaten him to bring Kim Suho back, he didn't beg, he broke down the damn door 😭😭😭😭. IT LITERALLY HAD LESS BUDGET TO DRAW FOR, THEY DIDNT HAVE TO ADD A FUTURE DESIGN.
