One of my favourite things about Syrus is his character development throughout the series. I mean our boy goes from Slifer to Obelisk, but not only that, he gains more confidence and strength as well. His development is one of my favorites, haha. As much as he changes and grows, he's still himself and not an entirely new person.

Similar with most members of the cast, you would have to be somewhat acquainted with Syrus before he makes a move - and yes, he would be the one to make the first initiative, but only in his third year, as an Obelisk Blue. You wouldn't have had to become best friends, but so long as you're on a casual to friendly basis.

At this point, he's not worried about being shot down. Sure, he still turns out to be a nervous wreck at the thought of asking you out, he's a sweaty hot mess when you're around, and his small stature might knock his confidence down a peg when you're talking to taller, more muscular guys, but he's gotten much better at giving himself little pep talks.

So he asks you out, not expecting you to say yes, and he begins to turn away and go "Oh okay well thanks for hearing me out-" and you have to stop him and go "Uh...I said yes, so let's meet up at 8, okay?" and the boy is stunned. He's smiling and a stuttering mess, he runs immediately to Jaden and asks what he should wear (the worst possible person to ask, but yknow , bros before hoes).

That's how I see the relationship even becoming to exist in the first place, the only reason I include that is because I can't see him getting anywhere with anybody who he is as a Slifer or Ra.

Alright, so you're in a relationship! How Syrus acts is largely dependant on your personality and how well you'd mesh with him. I do see him as a worrywart, especially if you're the reckless or ambitious type. He prefers to be safe and secure in the comfort at home - if you like to go out a lot, he'll constantly worry his little butt off, hoping you're okay. His mind constantly thinks of every possible scenario but he can get a bit dramatic and only think of the bad things that could happen.

Though I can see Syrus liking a "traditional wife/husband" role in a girlfriend/boyfriend, in his fantasies, in reality that's not what he'd like too much at all. Syrus is very level headed and realistic. Having someone too "perfect" or "mom

/dad material", while a stable relationship, wouldn't be fulfilling enough for him. He won't admit it but he secreltly LIKES someone who is more outgoing, more adventurous. It'll balance him out and push him harder in life.

In certain social situations, he's uncomfortable (large crowds, parties) especially where he doesn't know anybody - this is normal , but if youre there, he'll deal with it. He'll probably cling to you in fear of being separated; if you manage to lose him somehow, he'll be found awkwardly in a corner of the room.

And forget about it if someone else tries to talk to you or steal your attention! This little fluffball can get pretty jealous but he's not the type to take it out on you; rather, if he sees someone getting a little too flirty with you he'll step in, take your hand and go "Oh, darling, we're gonna be late for that thing later, so let's get going." Oh yes, he makes sure to really rub your relationship in anyone's face if they're getting too comfy with you. I feel like when he's with you, he gets a bit of "small dog syndrome" and he's just so bent on protecting you that he forgets he's not exactly the strongest. But he's got heart, and it's all for you 💕

This boy is so pure and so full of love! Dating Yugi will be romantic and intimate. You definitely would have had to be friends first, and romantic feelings would develop over time.

A relationship would most likely begin post DM, pre DSOD, if we’re keeping with the canon. Yugi could possibly have feelings for you during DM, but he’s got so much on his mind and going on in his life to focus. That, and the events taking place during this time have already put his family and friends in danger - the last thing he’d want to do is get a romantic partner involved in all this, as well! Plus, it gives him time to mature and work on his self-confidence, so the timing will be perfect after DM takes place.

Though he’s not shy to hold your hand and call you cute pet names in public, extreme PDA like having an extreme makeout is off the table. You can kiss eachother quickly and he’ll be alright with it, though flustered, but any more than that is a big no.

The two of you will spend some free time trying out new games neither of you have played before! Since he’s so good, you’d probably get tired of him kicking your ass (though sometimes he will let you win, just because you’re so cute when you get excited!) he prefers co-op games where he can work together with you, instead of against you.

He likes going on fun dates, at least once a week or two. Anything comfortable and more intimate where he can spend quality time with you, but where you can actually do something; he doesn’t like movie dates because you don’t get to talk to eachother, and he doesn’t like fancy dinner dates because he finds them too awkward (but he’s up for casual trips to small family-owned places).

Yugi is very in tune with his emotions, and can be very sensitive at times. He’s happy just spending time with you and sharing stories, worries, hopes for the future; planning out your lives together. Communicating with him is always easy and he doesn’t like any major secrets. He’ll always be open with you and hopes you’ll be the same way.

Very respectful towards your family! He likes going on day trips with your family, or taking you out with his. He’s a people person and very likable, and your family’s approval of him is very important. 

Even if he’s away on some professional dueling business, he’ll always ask if you’d like to come along with him. If you can’t, expect voice/video calls every night, and random flowers sent to your home/place of work with cute little cards saying how much he misses you.

He’s the type to like picking up small gifts for you; even if it’s nothing amazing, if something reminds him of you, he’ll grab it. He just likes to see you smile.

Your happiness is his, and as I mentioned earlier, he’s very empathetic. If something’s upsetting you, he can sense it immediately and he knows how to act. All he asks is if there’s anything he can do for you, and if you say no, he will simply hold you close and let you know that you’re safe with him.

Yugi is a very protective boyfriend, and very observant. Though he trusts you immensely, self-doubt and insecurities can creep up on him at times. He knows you love him, but sometimes he needs a little extra reassurance.

Listen, he ain’t all that innocent, alright? I headcanon him as having a normal to slightly above average sex drive, and bisexual. He’s seen the magazines, he’s browsed the internet quite a bit, so he knows what he’s doing.

Well, sort of. 

Watching is one thing and experience is another. I can’t see him being the type to like casual sex in the least, only with people he sees potential with. Yugi won’t date anyone unless he thinks it’ll really work, so his relationships will be at minimum, a year, but he always aims for longer.

Because of this he doesn’t have much hands-on (haha) experience, but he tries his best to apply what he’s seen in magazines and online to real life.

Sex is awkward, you can’t deny that, but he tries to acknowledge embarrassing things and address it, rather than avoid it. To him, if you pretend something weird didnt happen, that makes it so much worse than just talking about it.

So he’s very open-minded and very sex-positive, but still shy.

Will probably freeze up if he sees any bare part of you; he’ll blush and try to be confident but he can’t stop talking about how beautiful you are. 

Is constantly asking if you like what he’s doing, if you’re okay, or if he’s hurting you. This dies down over time, the more he gets used to you.

Is vanilla at first, but is very kinky and can’t wait til you’re both comfortable enough with eachother to get there.

Jaden/Judai isn't as oblivious to relationships as you might think - in his first year perhaps, but with the helps of his friends, he is corrupted informed by his friends about a number of things covering the topic.

Thing is, Jaden doesn't really crush on people that easily! Physical appearance doesn't mean much to him - sure, he can recognize when he finds someone a little more cute or attractive than average, but when it comes down to it, personality is key.

Being his friend first and foremost is key. As he gets to know you, feelings will develop on his side, though likely long after you've had feelings for him.

There isn't much of a change from being his friend to dating him. There's no "hierarchy", he'll more or less treat you the same. However, you will probably engage in deeper, more thought-provoking discussions, and he could be around you for hours without ever getting emotionally exhausted.

You need to have patience with him as he doesn't catch on as easily when anything not involving dueling comes about. Any issues in your relationship and you need to speak up - no "I'm fine" when you're not fine, because he'll take it at face value. If you're open and communicate with him, you'll reaaaaally make it easier for the poor boy!

Likes more down to earth dates, such as chilling out with the cr- I mean, climbing up on the roof of his dorm, cuddling under a blanket and watching the stars. He'll point out where he met the Neo Spacians, too! (...🙄)

Even when you're in the worst mood, he's naturally good at cheering you up. His solutions to problems are so simple yet so effective, straightforward. If your minds cluttered he can surely help you think straight, at least he'll do his best trying!

When you first met, it wasn't through love at first sight, though he definitely noticed you first. You'd probably met through a mutual friend (Jaden) just happening to hang out in the same group together. You were there, he was there; eventually, he noticed you whenever you'd like at one of his rude remarks towards someone else - never you.

His infatuation with Alexis dies down the more he realizes it's not going to happen, coupled with the increasing amount of time he's spending with you. He gets to know you first as a friend, though with Chazz/Jun, a friendship can turn into a romantic crush real, real fast.

If you weren't already aware, he won't tell you he's rich. Not unless he's desperate and doesn't think he'll stand a chance he might, but if he suspects you might return his feelings, he'll leave out that detail, at least in the beginning.

He tried to ask you numerous times, but the situation is almost always comically ruined. Whether it's by Jaden/Judai butting in at the wrong second, or him stammering and messing up his words.

He tries to compliment you and ask you out properly, but somehow he manages to turn some of his words into insults - he doesn't mean it!

A relationship with him is fast-paced and stressful. Chazz/Jun is so incredibly nervous on making you happy and being a good boyfriend that he becomes overbearing. You need to remind him to tone it down and relax. He'll try, but for him it won't be easy.

He's quick to get jealous. It's his own paranoia and insecurities that make him feel this way, causing him to jump to conclusions and anger over silly things. (Think of the cliche scenario, you and Jaden planning out a surprise birthday party for him, and Chazz totally assumes you're cheating, etc.). However this only lasts in the beginning, so when he feels more confident with you he'll slowly let go of these insecurities and anxieties.

We all know he's a real slob, but when he starts dating you he'll take those infamous highschool "axe showers" and smell like a walking Macy's perfume department. He's ...trying?

Very show-offy. He's always like this anyways, but even moreso around you. Challenging random people to duels to impress you, nobody's safe! He'll challenge that old lady, that dog, even that baby in a stroller...anyone. Everything is a competition for him because he needs to prove to you that he's the best, because that's what you deserve.

Just with winning and competition, Chazz/Jun likes to show you off, too. He won't do embarrassing things like read a poem to you aloud (Oh, yep. Alexis is definitely your friend at Duel Academy, and she told you all the embarrassing shit he did... you both make fun of him about it). Instead, Chazz/Jun will casually slip your name wherever he sees relevant. Just enough to let everyone and their mothers know that he is yours, and you are his.
