Ennead had been hiding in a small cave in the proximity of the shore, when he saw a large thing appear, apparently thrown in the water just outside his cave. He pulled a bit deeper in the shadows, startled by the sudden movement, but then swam a bit closer to get a better look. What was it? Was it something from the human world? Was it a human? Or a machine they made and for some reason threw away? Not apparently. Instead, Ennead stared as a merman with a brilliant, violet tail appeared from within a large bubble cloud, clearly distressed, maybe even hurt. It tried to go after something on land, but to no avail. All of sudden, the other one stopped moving, as if something was holding it still. Ennead had no idea why, but it seemed as if the other merman wasn’t feeling too well. Was it even sobbing? Ennead, who was an empathetic person, felt pity for it. He swam to the other with a quick kick of his tail, carefully circling around the merman. The other one wasn’t reacting to his presence, but it sobbed, body shivering violently. Oh no no no, why are you crying? No please don’t, Ennead thought while gathering the courage to tap the other on the shoulder. Since of course, that the violet merman was crying was his problem, too! Tap tap.  "Ex..Excuse me? Excuse me, but.. but why are you crying? Are you.. are you hurt?"

He finally let a grin pull across his unfamiliar face as he poked his (own??) nose. “Because I’m trying to think and maybe not call everyone who might be around us here while we’re like this!!” He laughed, covering up how nervous he was getting. Surely Warper wasn’t THAT dumb to not notice—- that. Right?? Not that he wanted him to say anything but if the change was so visible to see through the redhead’s eyes, it wouldn’t be that hard to pick up on. 

He froze, smile slipping off his face in a scarily controlled gesture. "It's-- nothing, okay." He turned his face away, frowning, "I'm sorry just-- it's not you it's my eyes so just. Try to ignore it?" He could feel the burning in his eyes as he fought not to cry in front of this!! Big loser of all people!!!!! But he ducked the head that wasn't his to press the heels of his hands to his eyes, hunching his shoulders. No one was supposed to know he had ignored it for so long since he came here. 

Laughing and wrinkling his nose at the barely felt slap, Irya flicked his tail, curling under and over top of the tiny red fish so he could blow a few bubbles in his face gently. “Maybe if you weren’t shouting all over the place you would’ve. Can’t you just say a little thank you? Or are those words too big for how tiny you are?” He cooed, laughing and letting another rush of bubbles fill the space between his face and Warper’s before straightening out, tail folding so he could perch his elbows on it and lean forward. “Are you far from home, tiny fishy??”

Giggling, the beta shrugged the loud angry bubbles off and twined closer to the red fish. "That's a pretty far swim for such tiny fins, hmm? Are you sure you'll be alright for such a lllooong journey? How long does something like that take you to swim?? An hour? Two???" He laughed again poking Warper's tiny tummy and then blinked, "How about we have a race!! I've been bored aaaaaall morning." 

Head shooting up at the sound, he frowned easily, “Hey! No ruining my body when you’re in it dumb tomato head!! And no yelling you’re gonna destroy my voice too!” He tried standing, stumbling and unaccustomed to the extra few inches and certain pain. Eyebrows drawing together in a gesture that was way too smooth for normal people he looked around, lips pressing together in a conflicted expression. He almost wanted to thank the irritable boy he had somehow managed to swap bodies with but at the same time he knew that Warper was looking through his OWN eyes.
