The problem with South Koreans in South Korea is this: They want their culture (dramas, movies, music, food, language, writing system, etc.) to be globally embraced and embedded, but as a people they are not ready for it—they're still acting "only us matters, this is our culture, no foreign voices allowed even diaspora and mixed". Here's the truth: you can't. If you want the global stage to embrace and embed your culture into theirs, you must listen to their voices. It is no longer about you, you, and you. It's about everyone. There is a price to pay: it stops being exclusively yours. So choose, the future or the past?
