Its has been an entire year.
I thought of writing something, anything, but I couldn't. How can words even capture a fragment of what they have been going through for the whole year.
I hope- I pray, that the genocide ends.
I'm gonna rebel against the cruel we live in and scatter the world with specks of hope.
Just you wait, I'm gonna make you feel peace.
I'm gonna make them feel the essence of healing.
I'm gonna forgive. Even myself.
The Auction
The hall was filled with people. I peeked at them from behind the stage. Their faces weren't visible to me. I turned back inside.
"They're here." I told my brother. "Those who'll buy our souls today."
The crowd was buzzing with whispers. Wondering what they'll end up with by the end of all of this. I felt sick to the core.
"Ladies and Gentlemen," A voice said from the front stage. The crowd suddenly went quiet.
"I hope you are in your best of health and spirits."
It was beginning. My heart raced.
"Today, we have gathered here for an auction. A very special auction."
Some faces in the crowd grinned.
"And hopefully, you all will be very satisfied by the end of today."
He paused for a second.
"So, let the auction begain!"
A very strange way of marking an opening to an auction, but it was not the greatest of my worries now. Staff came backstage and dragged my brother out. I couldn't even scream for him. The announcer was speaking.
"First, we'll bring, one of our best pieces. This young boy is merely twelve, ready to jump into youth, having dreams glittering into his eyes. What price do each of you have in your mind for him?"
A voice raised from a corner. "A Starbucks drink!"
"Starting off great. We have a Starbucks drink. Anyone else?"
"Two Starbucks drinks."
"We have two Starbucks drinks now! Anyone else willing to buy him?"
The crowd went silent. Two Starbucks drinks were too much. This boy's soul wasn't just worth it.
"Any one else willing?" The announcer announced again.
"If not, then we-"
"Three bottles of Coca Cola." A voice from the corner said.
"Sold!"
Then, a man came towards my brother with a fancy knife in his hands. Crowd looked away. Blood was too much for them to see but what they'll get in return was worth it.
A sharp cut aginst his thighs, blood erupted out. Scarlet drops and down they fell. Into an empty bottle. My brother begain screaming. They blasted music from speakers at full volume so that guests may not be disturbed.
His blood turned darker and darker every second. Scarlet slowly became red. And it bsgian accumulatimg in the bottle. By the second bottle, my brother had stopped screaming. He was slowly sleeping. I was crying, screaming, shouting; my body felt like it was on fire, and it wasn't even my turn yet. They kept extracting his blood out, and he slowly kept dying. I could even pinpoint the exact moment his eyes turned grey.
The bottles were handled to respected buyer, who took the cap off one of them and put it against his lips. A drop of Coke fell from the corner of his mouth. He gulped a mouthful and put the bottle away from his mouth.
"Amazing and refreshing."
The hall clapped.
He payed the full price of three bottles of Coke, shook hands and went off.
The deal had been successful. Buyer and seller both happy. Music on a blast. Let's ignore the whimpers of those dying and focus on the taste. Because it's just better this way.
My story
The world won't forget- And even if it did, I won't- And when I'd die, my tree won't- Which half grew by the water, and half by the blood, And my story is in every branch, every leaf- If you were to cut it, it would still carry my story around- Make a flute out of it, it'll spread my songs- Make a book out of it, pages would scream my tale- It'll keep on bleeding my story-
You think you have killed me-
You think you can kill me-
I am alive- In every echo, every reflection, I am alive- And even a thousand years later When there would be nothing left of you- They'll tell my story- I promise I'll outlive you-

"Where do the stars come from?" I heard a voice from the house next to me, While standing in night in my balcony,
"They're all the little children who die, their souls ascend to shine on the sky" I heard another voice say, In a very, very hurtful way,
"And why are there so many stars right now?" The little voice was curious after all, Me curious myself, leaned against my wall,
"Have you heard of Palestine?" The voice came again from the house next to me, And I shivered, standing in my balcony-
Smeared with mud and blood, I came out in the street, Sat by a large rock, Where- Jasmines tried to breathe,
Half crushed in the dark, Springing from a fallen home, Looking up for the light, Just- In midst of this storm,
And when I close my eyes, Filter ears from sounds, I see fallen garden, With- Flowers scattered all aroung,
And I promise- after the war, When flower-killers are no more, When We all shall be salvaged, And- When birds, on sky, they'll soar,
I'll plant a Jasmine garden, I'll hand pick all the seeds, And when they'll grow into flowers, I'll- Sit back and watch them breathe-
Dont cry mama
Don't cry mama,
Now I'm not there, to wipe your tears, With my hands,
Don't cry mama,
I know you will though, Like you did, When father died,
Don't cry mama,
For I now know, That far above these missiles, Is a sky so pretty! A sky so vast- It has a lot of space for both of us,
Don't cry mama,
Papa also gets anxious when you cry, I met him here, He smiled at me sadly, (You too?)
Don't cry mama,
I'll always look at you, And anxiously wait for you, I'll count every second, Till we finally embrace, All of us, As a family, And skies shall sing, And daises shall bloom, All smiling at our sweet reunion, But for now, Please don't cry-
The List
I scrolled down the list, And stopped on a name, My brother, His smile glittering, (His voice still echoes) And a thousand constellations in his eyes, So fragile, just like a glass, And so far-stretched- Delicately put together, I smiled at him (his name blurred)
A small sound, Of a gun Faraway, (Almost like a dream)
The glass broke-
The constellations fell off, Down, Down his cheeks,
Mixed with Red, So pretty, Enchanting-
All fell down, All of it, The stars, Galaxies, Fragile skies, (Dreams,)
A lovely chyme, Singing the songs he sang, (His voice still echoes)
(I. Won't. Forget.)
They say he was smiling when he died-
(His voice still echoes, And will continue to- always)
Today I will not talk about stopping the war or the number of children killed, but I want to show you a strong side of the Palestinian people. The owner of the right and the land does not run away or fear. I respect the Palestinians very much. Despite the suffering, wars and killing, they still smile and teach everyone how to coexist, regardless of the circumstances. Don't stop supporting them!
Don't stop talking about Palestine! #SavePalestinianChildren #GazaUnderattack

also, a friendly reminder, the world we live in now consists of an active genocide.
of warcrimes being posted on twitter by the official account of israeli government.
of people looking at children, women and men being bombed, killed, starved and butchered and saying it is okay because of a single terrorist group, THAT ISRAEL CREATED.
of westerners saying to look away from the slaughter happening in gaza because your mental health is more important than thousands of lives.
of israeli politicians straight up using propaganda from nazi handbooks to dehumanise palestinians, calling them less than human, less than the rest of us, animals.
and what one palestinian man posted on his social media hit me more than anything: “if we actually were animals, people would care.”
Slight correction that Hamas is not a terrorist group, but a paramilitary liberation group, and calling them terrorists is part of the US-Israel strategy to evoke islamophobic and orientalist fears. It's 9/11 rhethoric. The IRA were called terrorists, the Black Panthers were called terrosists, at this point "terrorist" is not a descriptor, but a call to dehumanization of whichever group is using violence to defend themselves from an oppressive state. And in this case, the oppressive state is carrying out a genocide, while Hamas treats its prisoners humanely. Beware of how the US islamophobic propaganda has shaped our language.
The Jabalia massacre....💔
People are literally gone, the majority of the dead people have no bodies to bury. They're either in pieces or completely gone, burned to ashes. My god what are we looking at, what are we witnessing?
Meanwhile biden goes on and says now is not the time to consider a ceasefire in gaza. The ministry of health spokesperson said that the jabalia massacre is worse than the one in the hospital.
Translation: "Hours ago israeli zionists bombed an entire neighborhood which led into the death of +500 mostly women and children. The horrifying part is that many of the victims evaporated from the intensity of the bombing, meaning they just disappeared from existence.
Gazans don't care about death. They care about whether their loved ones will find them after they get killed or will the last goodbye kiss be postponed for when they meet in heaven"

Red–the color of sunset skies, Red–the color of Rose's bud, Red–the berries from my tree, But- Red–my little sister's blood,
I- Look upon my hands (dust) Look upon my feet (wounds) Look upon the tanks Roaming up on my streets,
I- Look upon my house (burnt) Look upon the trees (dead) Look upon the on-lookers From across the seas
Gray–the sceant of rain on mud Gray–the songs of winds in storm Gray–the early morning street But- Gray–what I used to call home
I- Look upon the skies (missles) Look upon the ground (corpses) Look upon the destruction all around
I- Look upon my neighborhood (blown) For anything good found (Please) Look upon the chaos Amoung the shelling sounds
Yellow–the sunflowers, they smile, Yellow–nostalgia of past, Yellow–the hope of a new day But- Yellow–what I see as they blast
And-
Green–the trees and love and life, Green–the peace by river banks, Green–the tranquil forest side, But- Green–the colour of their tanks
And-
White–they say that it is peace, White–that's free of every sin, White–the silk pearls from a clam, But White–the clothe my brother's in,
And
Blue–of seas and that of death, Purple–of flowers and the wounds, Orange–the sun and my burning home, Black–the night sky full of doom,
I- Look upon those in the charge Sitting calmly,
I- Look upon them doing nothing for me,
I- Look back at my home, A stone in my hand, I swear I won't leave, I'll fight, alone, for my lovely land,
But- I won't forget anything, When I'll be free, For I remember clearly, Whatever I see-
Oh just you see!
We'll break your chains, Oh just you see, Tear off your crown, Oh just you see, Throw the throne off, Oh just you see, We'll bring you down, Oh just you see,
You think you can silence, By slicing off our tounge? We'll write with blooded hands, 'Our Hope's Still Young!'
In face of death, We'll smile with glee, Blow your torches off, Oh just you see,
We aren't dead, We're still alive! And we'll continue to survive!
'till the new sun, Sees that we're free! The world shall know, Oh just you see-!

"This isn't war, it's genocide. Free Palestine"
In the midst of Red and Gray,
I saw a boy,
Dirt on his hands,
Blood on his clothes,
Yet smiling- so vibrantly,
In the face of death,
(If the winds could speak they'd scream)
He survives, he survives, he survives,
His bright shining eyes,
Call out to them,
"You'll never be able to end me-
I'll live I'll live and I'll keep on living!"
