I’m going to ignore your obvious rudeness and use this as a teachable moment. I’m an entomology student. I get upset about the arbitrary separation of “wasps” and “bees” because it is scientifically inaccurate. 

Bees are literally just wasps of the families Andrenidae, Apidae, Colletidae, Halictidae, Megachilidae, Melittidae, and Stenotritidae. Together these these families form a group, or “clade” called Anthophila, which everyday people call “bees.” 

The reason I get upset when they are separated from wasps is the same reason others get upset when people say that scientists have “ruined” dinosaurs by giving them feathers. 

Science doesn’t exist to entertain you. 

The idea that bees = good and wasps = evil is completely arbitrary and built upon an arbitrary hatred of a whole group of animals. Also, there are thousands and thousands of wasp species that are very different from each other. Most of them don’t sting. And like it or not, the wasps that do sting don’t do it without reason. Let me break it into simple understandable steps:

- wasp brain different than human brain

- wasp and human have very different body language

- wasp cannot read human body language

- wasp make mistakes sometimes, think human scary

- wasp must be cautious to keep self and babies safe

- wasp must sting
