OOC - Derbyβs relationships with other characters !! headcanon stuff β¦ me when i get to talk about headcanonsβ¦. vague derby x johnny ... derby x garyβ¦ twiddles my thumbs
These are just a few canon characters I wanted to write about, but if you have OCs ive interacted with as Derby I wouldnt mind writing stuff for them too π₯Ί
βΌοΈ this describes derbyβs relationship with pinky, so heads up for the whole incest thing. i will not be portraying it in a positive manner, its not something thats meant to be seen as a good thing.
Bif - Derby and Bif have been friends since childhood, first meeting at about age 5. Their families were close to one another and they met up often. Bif is Derbyβs closest friend, and likely the person he trusts the most out of anyone. He keeps Bif close. The two have gotten into fights before, mostly due to Derbyβs controlling nature, but theyβve always made up.
Pinky - Pinky is the daughter of Derbyβs uncle, on his momβs side. Pinky and Derby, being cousins, have always known each other through the family connection. As children they were very close, having an almost sibling-like relationship. Though as they got older and the marriage was arranged, they grew apart. They find it very hard to view each other in that sort of way. On the outside, they try to maintain the image of a healthy relationship to make their family happy. But really, Derby holds a resentment towards her because of the unwanted arrangement, he is bitter about the situation and doesnβt treat her well. They argue often behind closed doors.
Tad - He calls Tad a friend, but brushes him off constantly. Heβs entirely unaware that Tad wants to take his place as leader, and the way he treats him probably doesnβt help Tadβs feelings about him. He ignores him, talks over him, and just pushes him around.
Gary - Derby never liked Gary, he hardly thought of him at all until Jimmy went on his date with Pinky. By then, Gary began to work his way into Derbyβs inner circle and gain his trust. Derby and Gary plotted together against Jimmy, but after some time it became more than that. He finds himself genuinely enjoying Garyβs company, admiring his intelligence and loyalty. He is very conflicted with his feelings about Gary and will never admit them to himself or anyone else. They remain off and on, with Derby desperately trying to keep the relationship a secret.
Jimmy - He despises Jimmy. If thereβs anything Derby hates the most, itβs to be humiliated. He feels Jimmy did that to him multiple times - getting with Pinky, beating Bif, and beating him up as well. He also trusts a lot of the things Gary says about Jimmy, believing that Jimmy wants to overthrow him and convince his friends to turn against him.
Mr. Harrington (Derbyβs Father) - Derbyβs relationship with his father is conflicting. He has always admired his dad, and aspires to be just as powerful and influential as he is. Though, he also holds hatred for his father. Derby is expected to be many things, things he feels he cannot live up to, and the pressure his father puts onto him takes a toll. He blames his father for the person he has become. Being expected to marry a woman, who also happens to be his cousin, only puts further strain on how he feels about him. Mr. Harrington is very absent from his family life, often on trips. Derby is desperate for his approval and attention.
Mrs. Harrington (Derbyβs Mother) - As a child, he was closer to his mother than he was to his father. However, Derby changed with age, and mirrors the behavior of his father in how he treats her. It isnβt uncommon for the two to argue, with Derby usually becoming more aggressive as it progresses. He views her as unreasonable, and feels that she doesnβt respect him. He has practically ruined his relationship with her and they donβt talk very often, despite living under the same roof. He has a lot of issues regarding women and finds it difficult to connect, so he pushes her away.
Johnny - Derby and Johnny werenβt always so bad. He knew Johnny for while a while through his years at school, he couldβve even considered him a friend. But after a lot of personal drama they really fell out. Derby finds it funny to instigate Johnny and then get him into trouble after he fights back. He has something to say about Johnny all the time. From anyone elseβs perspective, he seems kind of obsessed. Could probably be described as a crush, but even Derby doesnβt realize that's what it is.
Lola - The way he treats her is pretty much entirely because of her relationship with Johnny. He picks on her and is always talking bad about her. It might be a result of some strange jealousy he feels(toward both her relationship with Johnny, and the fact sheβs pretty and gets a lot of guys), but heβs not ready to unpack all that.
