the path to true love never did run smooth

Lucerys wants to send so much letters to Aemond, but Daemon has control over every raven letter sent out. And after that ONE time Daemon punished Lucerys by reading out the letter in dinner, he gave up trying to communicate with Aemond.

He keeps writing to deal with his complicated emotions. Letters of apology, letter of friendship, letters of love. So many things he wish he can say to his friend. And after each letter, he seals it in wax, writes Aemond’s name on it, as a way to bottle up these thoughts.

On the eve of their return to King’s Landing, as the family and servants rush to pack up, he takes out letters. Laughs at himself. The pile is huge now. He can’t believe how much he has written to Aemond all these years. All the words he tried to send—

“LUCERYS VELARYON IF YOU DON’T FINISH PACKING THE SHIP IS LEAVING WITHOUT YOU, AND YOU CAN SWIM TO KING’S LANDING!”

He leaves the letter on the desk. He’ll burn it when he comes back.

A long ship travel later, the family returns to King’s Landing. There, Jace and Luke find Aemond training. The same thing happens. Before he can turn to leave though, Aemond grabs his arms. 

Lucerys: Qybor?

Aemond: We need to talk.

Lucerys: But the petition, we need to go—

Aemond: *takes out the huge pack of letter Lucerys has written to Aemond* we need to talk. 

Turns out those Driftmark servants saw the table full of sealed and ready to deliver letters and made the natural conclusion. It took the entire army of ravens, but those letters were sent! (The poor King’s Landing raven tower team was shocked by the CLOUD of ravens that arrived)

During the petition, Vaemond made his threats, but Lucerys can barely give a shit because he was arguing with his uncle on the side away from both their families.

Aemond: So you meant none of it?! Your declaration of love?! Lucerys: No! Wait, yes, but no I hadn’t meant for you to read—

Vaemond: EXCUSE ME I AM TALKING—

A new baby appears in dragonstone with clear Valyrian features. He immediately runs to Lucerys, crying to his Muna about being lost in this strange place.

Everybody is immediately able to tell from the scent that this is indeed Lucerys’ child

Lucerys: I AM NOT EVEN WED YET D: … But my child is adorable so I clearly did something right :D

Daemon: *alarm bells starts ringing when he realises his future grandchild has Valyrian hair and purple eyes*

Rhaenyra: You are overthinking this. Maesters say that features sometimes skip a generation.

Daemon: Oh fate has never been that kind to me. 

The family is dragged to King’s Landing on Daemon’s insistence. 

The royal family meets with one another. Before Rhaneyra can try and explain this sudden visit, Daemon walks right up to the Targtowers and gives each alpha child a big hug.

Daemon: *HUG SNIFF* *HUG SNIFF* *HUG SNIFF* 

Three gold dragons on who the father is.

Aegon: WHAT IN THE SEVEN'S FUCK WAS THAT

Daeron: Was uncle Daemon always this affectionate?

 *5 minutes later*

Luke: *taps table*

Aemond: *taps back*

Aegon: What are they doing?

Jace: Morse code.

Luke: *aggressively taps table*

Luke: Mama, no! I'm well aware that I shouldn't have drunk so much, I should have sat quietly and not even dared to look at Aemond—

Rhanyra:

Rhanyra: Oh, no I do not mean that kind of talk. I mean the "a lot people in my side of the family are fucking perverts" talk.

Aemond watched him in silence, a familiar tightness to his lips.

“I just want to have one day when I can simply go and be in peace without everyone losing their minds over it,” Lucerys grumbled, trying not to sound so childish. “Let’s go then. If we’re lucky my family won’t have begun to hunt you down as well. Yet,” he added gloomily.

Lucerys tried to walk past Aemond to Arrax, but he was stopped by the blonde grabbing his bicep. His grip was steady as ever, his hand almost covering the entire circumference of Lucerys’s arm.

“What?” Lucerys asked with a growing irritation, standing still until Aemond forced them to face each other.

He held Lucerys by his chin and leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his lips, closing his eye and staying near to breathe him in for a moment.
