The way people generally talk (or don’t talk) about ai in relation to racism is making me go crazy. Like no offense but I feel like a lot of people are more concerned with the fact that AI steals from their favorite heckin wholesome white twitter artist than the fact it’s literally a tool of facism and that’s why a some anti-ai activism (at least in my opinion) feels somewhat hollow. Like sure draw a Glitch character telling an ai bro to pick up a pencil or draw #standwithanimation yaoi or whatever but it gets to a point where I feel like white ND/queer people (bc let’s face it those are who’s on the forefront of the anti-ai movement) are once again being willfully ignorant to the issues of racism here. Like LMMs are literally trained to be racist. Government officials use image generation to spit out horribly racist caricatures of black people and immigrants without consequence. Most environmentally devastating data centers are built in predominantly lower income black and brown communities robbing them of valuable resources.
