just because your traumas and losses have taught you things, it doesn’t mean you deserved to suffer. people often break bad experiences down to “learning opportunities” and “growth” and while they may have helped you grow and change as a person, it doesn’t mean you deserved the pain. ive so often been told, “well it’s horrible but at least it’s taught you abc!”. don’t let people minimise your struggles just because you’re strong enough to grow from them.
