The summer it all began : L.HS pt.2
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────
That summer will stay engraved in your memory forever. A house by the sea, an endless beach, and laughter that still echoes in your mind.
That’s all your summer was… at first glance.
Because you never would have guessed that, that boy distant, almost unreachable, the one you had loved in silence for so long would, for a few short weeks, become your sweetest secret… and your biggest weakness.

(English isn’t my first language, and this is my very first story so please be gentle with me. ) Lee Heeseung x reader slight mention of blood , light angst , light fluff , slow burn romance . ( . )
Three weeks later… I finally remembered my own story.
I’m really sorry for the delay 😭 Chapter two was supposed to come out way earlier, but life happened and I completely disappeared for a while.
✦ ───────✦─────━━━━✦
The years passed quickly.
Now, you and Sunoo were sixteen, while Heeseung had just turned eighteen. And despite all those years going by, nothing had really changed between you and him.
At least… that’s what you thought.
You and Heeseung rarely talked. Only when it was absolutely necessary. Whenever you crossed paths, he would simply ask:
“Are you okay?”
More out of politeness than genuine concern. It was obvious that he didn’t actually care about the answer. He just wanted to seem polite. One day, you were once again at Sunoo’s house when you realized you had forgotten your charger in his room.
So you went back to get it, only to find Heeseung lying on Sunoo’s bed, completely focused on his phone. You didn’t pay much attention to him at first and searched the room for your charger… until you noticed that Heeseung was currently using it.
“Heeseung, can I have my charger back please?”
He slightly lifted his eyes toward you before looking down at the charger in his hand.
“This is yours?” he asked. Then he handed it back to you. “Here. Sorry, I got confused.”
You took your charger and were about to leave the room when he suddenly stopped you.
“Wait—”
You immediately turned around, slightly surprised. He stared at you as if he wanted to say something… but no words came out. A few seconds passed in heavy silence.
Then finally:
“Never mind.”
Seriously? That was it?
You simply turned your back to him and left the room, closing the door behind you.
Ever since that day, Heeseung had changed.
Whenever he saw you or even passed by you in the street he stared at you. Persistently. Far too persistently.
You didn’t understand why he was acting like that. He looked at you as if he were trying to read through you, like he wanted to uncover every single secret you had. Honestly, sometimes he looked like a serial killer.
When you told Sunoo about it, he didn’t believe you at first.
Until he saw it with his own eyes.
“He likes you, I’m telling you! Nobody looks at someone like that unless they like them!”
“Sunoo, stop making things up. He doesn’t like me, that’s impossible. He just broke up with his girlfriend. He probably still has feelings for her… and me? I’m just… nothing.”
“Keep convincing yourself if you want. I’m telling you, he likes you, and I know I’m right. Have I ever been wrong before?”
“No…”
“Exactly! Trust me. I know what I’m talking about.”
Of course, you trusted Sunoo. But this time, you were convinced he was completely wrong.
Sunoo was still trying to convince you that Heeseung had feelings for you.
But you kept pretending not to hear him.
It was true that Heeseung had become less distant than before. Well… at least he didn’t avoid you like the plague anymore.
Whenever he saw you at his house, he no longer locked himself in his room until you left.
For Sunoo, that was already huge progress.
You and Sunoo were now in your second year of high school.
That year, the two of you spent more time laughing than actually paying attention in class. Well… you still studied a little.
But despite all the chaos and endless joking around, your grades had never really dropped.
Then the following year came.
Senior year.
You were both seventeen now and, this time, procrastination was officially over. It was time to get serious.
The two of you worked incredibly hard to prepare for your final exams.
One afternoon, while studying at Sunoo’s house and eating snacks together, an idea suddenly crossed his mind.
“Would you want us to go to Okinawa after graduation? Just the two of us,” he asked before taking a bite of his cookie.
“Okinawa? Seriously?”
You stared at him in disbelief.
“It’s an amazing idea, but how are we supposed to survive there? I’m reminding you that we’d literally be in another country, far away from everything we know.”
Okinawa had always been your dream destination.
To both of you, it looked like paradise itself.
“You’re talking like we’re going to France or something. It’s just Japan, it’s close. And besides, you can speak Japanese, so nothing bad is going to happen to us. You’ll be our personal translator.”
“The fact that I can speak Japanese doesn’t magically solve everything. And I’m also reminding you that we’re still minors. Convincing our parents to let us go alone is going to be complicated.”
“They’ll say yes, don’t worry about that. I’ll convince them.”
You stared at him for a few seconds before speaking again.
“And more importantly… do we even have enough money for this trip?”
Sunoo looked at you silently.
And you were already staring back at him suspiciously.
“We’ll talk about the financial details later. Let’s focus on the trip first.”
“Sunoo… do we have the money or not?”
“Yes… and no.”
He grimaced slightly before continuing.
“The plane tickets aren’t actually that expensive. The real problem is the accommodation, the food, and all the souvenirs we’re obviously going to buy there. But our parents will probably help us. They love us too much to let us die in the streets.”
“You really love taking risks. And what if they say no?”
Sunoo simply shrugged.
“Then… we’ll ask Heeseung.”
You nearly choked.
“Seriously? Heeseung?”
“Yes, Heeseung. The same Heeseung you think about every single day.”
“Sunoo!”
He burst out laughing before continuing.
“He’s in university now, so he definitely has at least some money. And besides… in the end, he won’t really have a choice. "
━━━━━━━━━☾━━━━━━━━━━
For the rest of the afternoon, the two of you planned the trip. You checked the prices of plane tickets, hotels, and compared everything with your savings.
And with your savings combined, you could already cover half of the trip by yourselves. So the two of you kept talking and talking, completely forgetting about studying.
But the hardest part was still left: convincing your parents.
That same evening, you both decided to talk to your parents separately before texting each other to find out their answers.
“They said yes… and no.”
you texted.
“What do you mean yes and no? What does that even mean?”
“They agreed to help us financially. But only if we find someone mature and responsible to go with us.”
“Seriously? We’re already old enough.”
“I know, but you can never be too careful. You know how my parents are.”
“Yeah, I know… but wait. I just had the idea of the century.”
“I’m scared.”
“Bitch, shhh. I found the perfect person for your parents.”
“Who?”
“Heeseung.”
“Sunoo, I don’t know what demon possessed you, but stop this immediately.”
“But it’s a good idea, isn’t it? Heeseung is mature… and maybe you’ll finally get closer to him during the trip 🌝”
“…”
“Come on, accept it. I’m doing this for us.”
“Fine. I accept.”
“YOU’RE THE BEST. I’m going to talk to my parents right now, wait for me.”
A few minutes later, he came back.
“THEY SAID YES. Now we just need Heeseung’s agreement, but honestly, who cares about his opinion? My parents already said yes!”
“That’s good… but what if he refuses?”
“He’ll accept. And even if he doesn’t, my parents will force him anyway. Honestly, I think they’ve been trying to get rid of both of us for a while now… that’s probably why they agreed so quickly. But don’t worry about it. I’ll handle everything.”
“I trust you, so don’t ruin this.”
“Scout’s honor.”
The next day, Sunoo and his parents talked to Heeseung about the trip, and despite everything, he eventually agreed to come. But looking on the bright side… at least he was going to travel.
The months passed quickly and little by little, everything became official: you were actually going on the trip. The excitement was visible on both of your faces, and that alone motivated you to study even harder for your final exams.
And eventually, you passed them with flying colors.
It was official now. You had graduated from high school. Now it was time for university.
The thought felt strangely bittersweet.
It probably meant that Sunoo and you would eventually have to separate. After spending so many years in the same classes, there was a chance you wouldn’t even end up at the same university anymore.
But this wasn’t the time to think about that.
Not now.
Right now, the only thing that mattered was the vacation getting closer and closer every day.
Your suitcases had already been packed for weeks, simply waiting for the day of departure.
And then, finally, that long-awaited day arrived.
With your luggage in hand, after exchanging hugs and goodbye kisses with your parents, the three of you finally headed toward the boarding gate.
The flight itself was rather short…
But still long enough to make you fall asleep.
I’m genuinely so sorry 😭 I know I said part two would be out earlier… and well, that clearly did not happen.
But I promise I’m working on it right now. It should be out either tonight or tomorrow morning
Fashion is my second favorite f-word.

✦ ───────✦─────━━━━✦
Nonexistent. It was the only word that could describe the “relationship” between you and Heeseung. Even though you had known him for years. You could even say you had grown up together, yet nothing ever changed he always stayed the same: distant and cold.
At seventeen, you hadn’t experienced much in life. No romantic encounters, no supernatural experiences, no love at first sight… nothing.
But if there was one thing you could call extraordinary, it was meeting your best friend, Sunoo.
You had met when you were seven years old, back in elementary school. You were in his class, and at that age, you were shy, unsociable, and most importantly… silent. You didn’t talk to anyone.
Whenever the teacher asked you to speak in front of the class, it felt like she was sending you straight to hell.
Sunoo, on the other hand, was social and bright. The complete opposite of you. And that year, you ended up in the same class.
To your greatest misfortune, you were seated right next to him. And he talked all the time. Truly all the time.
He told you about his vacations, his arguments with his brothers, all while knowing perfectly well that you weren’t listening. But he didn’t care. He kept going and going… until you somehow knew everything about his life without even realizing it.
And then one day, during an arts and crafts activity, you cut yourself. You didn’t even understand how your hand had ended up covered in blood within seconds. You should have raised your hand to tell the teacher, but the pain and your shyness stopped you.
Sunoo, who had been quietly humming beside you, turned toward you and immediately noticed your discomfort.
“Are you okay?” he asked softly.
Then his eyes dropped to your hand.
Blood.
Without hesitating, he raised his hand.
“Miss! Y/N is bleeding from her hand!”
On one hand, you were grateful that he had spoken for you. On the other, you wanted to strangle him for drawing attention to you.The teacher quickly came over and took you to the nurse’s office.
At recess, you gathered all your courage and went to find him.He was racing around with his friends. You approached shyly and tapped his shoulder.
He turned around immediately.
“Oh, hi! Is your hand better now?” he asked in his usual cheerful tone.
“Yes… thank you. Sunoo, I wanted to thank you for telling the teacher for me.”
He smiled at you.
“It’s normal. You’re my friend.”
Friend? He considered you his friend? You had only spoken three times since the beginning of the school year ! It didn’t matter. You were still happy that he saw you that way. Your first friend.
Then, without warning, he threw an arm around your shoulders and dragged you along with him.
“Come on! I’ll introduce you to my other friends. You’ll see, they’re nice.”
Sunoo dragged you over to a group of six boys who seemed to be his friends. They were all adorable, loud, and full of energy… but one of them caught your attention immediately.
He looked taller than the others. Calmer, too. And without a doubt, far more handsome.
Sunoo started pointing at each of them enthusiastically.
“So, this is Jungwon, Sunghoon, Jake, Jay, and Riki…”
Then he pointed at the last boy, the one who had barely spoken since you arrived.
“And him the tall one that’s my brother. You know, the one I talk about all the time. Heeseung.”
You greeted everyone shyly, trying to memorize their names. But when your eyes met Heeseung’s, everything else around you disappeared. Sunoo kept talking, proudly telling everyone that you were his new friend. But you… you were already somewhere else.
Heeseung had captured all of your attention in only a few seconds.
Then, before you could even understand what was happening, you were appointed the official judge of a race between Sunoo and Jake. And Heeseung stood right beside you. That was how it all began.
From that day on, you and Sunoo became inseparable.
You were like day and night. Him, the day: bright, loud, impossible to ignore. You, the night: quiet, discreet, almost invisible. And somehow, it worked perfectly. You spent all your days together.
At the end of every school year, you begged the teachers and sometimes even the principal to place you in the same class again, for the sake of your mental health, as Sunoo loved to say.
In middle school, then high school, you always found a way to stay together. And like any real friendship, you had already shared everything: your secrets, your arguments, your snacks… and even nights sleeping over at each other’s houses.
Which meant one thing: you saw Heeseung often. Too often. He was always there.
In the kitchen, in the living room, in the hallway, in the car, sometimes just leaning against a wall while looking at his phone. Everywhere. And without truly realizing it, you had started developing feelings for him from the very first moment you saw him.
Sunoo had figured it out almost immediately. He swore to keep your secret… while constantly trying to bring the two of you closer together.
He had already locked you in the same room once.
Yes. Literally.
And he had tried many other suspicious little schemes, hoping his brother would finally notice you. But nothing ever worked. Heeseung remained true to himself: cold, distant… and terribly unreachable.
The years passed, and unfortunately, your feelings for Heeseung never disappeared. At eleven, Sunoo and you entered middle school. By luck or by curse it was the same school Heeseung attended. Except he was two grades above you. Older, taller… and even more unreachable than before.
Then one day, while walking through the hallways with Sunoo, you spotted him in the distance.
Heeseung.
Leaning against a locker, smiling at a girl.
And it was very clearly not a friendly smile.
You froze in place.
The world around you kept moving normally, but you stayed stuck on that ridiculous scene. Ridiculous, because you had no right to be jealous.
You were nothing to him.
That day, you ran to Sunoo and declared with all the seriousness in the world that you were going to stop loving his brother once and for all.
You swore it.
You tried to convince yourself.
You really tried.
But it never worked.
Because no matter how many promises you made, Heeseung always found a way to haunt your thoughts again.
Part 2 coming soon !!
