I know I made this post before about Zoya but I truly mourn every relationship will never get to see with Matthias because of the decision to kill him off. like, we’ll never get see his friendships develop further with Kaz, Jesper, Wylan, and Inej, we’ll never see him with Genya, David and Nikolai, the potential dynamic between him and Hanne would’ve been fascinating, he’ll never get any true closure on his relationship with Brum, he and Toyla could’ve bonded over poetry, Matthias would’ve respected Tamar so much. We just lost so much. Ugh, Matthias Helvar, I miss you so much

matthias helvar’s character arc is actually so fucking beautiful because he actively chooses to change his viewpoint of the world. he instinctually thinks something bad, and then stops and reminds himself to give it a second thought. he sees in hindsight how his old life was poisoning him. he wants to help others who had been in his position, even if they can’t see the poison on their own yet.
