Looking at Amanohashidate through your legs, it looks like a dragon is soaring into the sky.

Kawarake throwing is a traditional Japanese custom where people throw clay dishes (or earthenware discs) for good luck or as a prayer.

輪を通るようにかわらけ(Earthenware)を投げて運試しをしましたが、入らなかったです。

Haniwa (clay cylinders) topped with the form of a shield, or with a shield and quiver of arrows, appear on some tomb mounds called kofun (old mounds). There are also warriors holding a shield, their heads peeping out over the tops, or diagonally across their bodies. There are even some haniwa with a warrior’s helmet sitting at the top of the cylinder above the shield. This unusual object has a shield and quiver on the front, and the face of a warrior wearing a helmet on the reverse. Size: Overall: 120 x 48.7 x 18 cm (47 ¼ x 19 3/16 x 7 1/16 in.) 雪月花 (setsugekka) lit. means “snow, moon, and flowers”, is the beginning of a famous verse going “I remember you especially when snow, the moon or flowers are beautiful”. 

During Edo period, this expression came to represent the passing of seasons (winter snow, autumn moon, spring flowers), and was used as a themed for ukiyoe prints series. Here is one, pretty litteral, by Sakai Hôitsu:
