Kasamatsu Park, Amanohashidate
天橋立 笠松公園
Looking at Amanohashidate through your legs, it looks like a dragon is soaring into the sky.
股のぞきをすると龍が天空に昇るように見えるみたいです。
Kawarake throwing is a traditional Japanese custom where people throw clay dishes (or earthenware discs) for good luck or as a prayer.
輪を通るようにかわらけ(Earthenware)を投げて運試しをしましたが、入らなかったです。

Kyoto, Japan.
Female figure, possibly a fertility goddess
Northwest Pakistan, terracotta, Sunga period, 3rd century BC
The strictly frontal and rigid posture is characteristic of hand-modelled archaic figures. Distinguished by an elaborate headdress, large slit-pellet eyes, prominent breasts, narrow waist, wide hips, and diminutive limbs, this figure communicates an emphasis on ornamentation and fertility. While it's original function remains unknown, its comfortable fit within the human hand denotes ritualistic use.

found out about the haniwa warriors via raden picross . coolest shit ever .. they found five similar haniwa warriors in eastern gunma which suggests there was a group of extremely talented haniwa sculptors in the area

Haniwa in the Form of a Shield, c. 500, Cleveland Museum of Art: Japanese Art
Haniwa (clay cylinders) topped with the form of a shield, or with a shield and quiver of arrows, appear on some tomb mounds called kofun (old mounds). There are also warriors holding a shield, their heads peeping out over the tops, or diagonally across their bodies. There are even some haniwa with a warrior’s helmet sitting at the top of the cylinder above the shield. This unusual object has a shield and quiver on the front, and the face of a warrior wearing a helmet on the reverse. Size: Overall: 120 x 48.7 x 18 cm (47 ¼ x 19 3/16 x 7 1/16 in.) Medium: Earthenware with applied, cut, and incised designs and red slip

Chic b&w outfit, pairing a sleek geometrical obi, and a refined kimono with setsugekka flowing poems.
雪月花 (setsugekka) lit. means “snow, moon, and flowers”, is the beginning of a famous verse going “I remember you especially when snow, the moon or flowers are beautiful”.
During Edo period, this expression came to represent the passing of seasons (winter snow, autumn moon, spring flowers), and was used as a themed for ukiyoe prints series. Here is one, pretty litteral, by Sakai Hôitsu:
And here is another one, with famous poetesses embodying the concepts (from left to right: Sei Shônagon, Murasaki Shikibu, Ono no Komachi):
You can find more examples on Wikipedia :)

i finished star wars outlaws yesterday, i thought it was great, i was hooked on the story from the start, and they were right to make a game like this during this time period. unfortunately they picked like the worst time ever to release it. disney was just churning out series for disney+, and ubisoft was doing the same but for games. they had made up the term "AAAA" to start selling games at $70 so they could push you towards ubisoft+, so i think at this point people were really over the both of them. get it when it's on sale for 99 cents
anyway i'm starting ffxiii-2 now and the menu screen is a journey itself, from the tetsuya nomura title screen credit to the "beginner's primer" menu where i was expecting a tutorial but is actually the cliff notes version of the 13 chapters of ffxiii.
hey speaking of, is "cliff notes" a mandela effect thing or do you think we just all agree that "cliff notes" is better to say than "cliffs notes"
