Try as they might, Hela and Asher are not the couple to have nickname for each other at the start of their relationship. It's too corny for their taste, too awkward to say it seriously, even more with the Thorston' twins around them. They only manage to call each other babe, any other thing has each other cringing.
As years pass, the cringe dies down slowly. 'Darling' is cooed teasingly, 'love' is reserved to more vulnerable moments where the other needs it, a caress direct to the aching heart to soothe it. 'Honey' is more acceptable when they are around friends; even more enjoyable when, in the privacy of their bedroom, it is whispered in dozed mumbles with fingers carded in the scalp, tracing random patterns to relax after a tiring day.
Though, there is a limit they can reach. No 'sugar plum', no 'lovebug', no 'jellybean'.
