Constance Wu wears Ralph & Russo at the premiere of Crazy Rich Asians in Los Angeles, CA.
Wu’s off-the shoulder design featured silk fringe and a whopping 200,000 Swarovski crystals, and took a total of 275 hours to construct and 490 hours to hand-embroider, according to Vogue.
“In history, tassels have almost always been a symbol of power and prestige, not to mention they make for a glamorous detail,” Wu’s stylist Micaela Erlanger told the magazine. “This movie is so important for so many reasons, and I felt that Constance should look both powerful and glamorous.”
Though her gown certainly sparkled on its own, Wu accessorized with plenty of jewels — 90 carats’ worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, to be exact.
Erlanger wanted Wu’s final look to reflect the movie’s theme. “The film is based around both luxury and fashion, making a couture red-carpet moment all the more perfect for the world premiere,” she told Vogue.
