Neil can eat Everything. Like absolutely EVERYTHING. In every weird combination imaginable. Pickles and chocolate? He'll eat it. Peanutbutter and salmon? Yeah he can stomache it. Super spicy food, expired food, vegetables with dark spots or just a completly oversalted dish? Yeah, Neil is eating it as we speak. The first reason is obviously his life on the run. Whatever Groceries Neil and his mother could get their hands on would most likely end up eaten. With no place to store the food & drinks they had bought, they'd usually just eat quickly and move on. There was never the option to be picky or leave food unfinished because sometimes simply entering a supermarket was risking to get caught on camera. But even when they'd live in a town for weeks at a time, the fridge would never be stacked to the fullest. Neils Mother would buy groceries and wait until they where mostly out until she'd buy new stuff. Often times this meant that before the next grocery run Neil would find himself scrambling together leftovers without any rhyme or reason; eating pickles, two slices of toast, cold leftover lasagna and 8 grapes with a slice of cheese. It's not that Neil necessarily likes eating every subsistence available, like some deranged gluttonese vacuum, and it's not like all the bad meals have made his tastebuds go numb. Neil simply isn't that bothered when it comes to food in general. To him hunger is more like this secondary somewhat inconvinient craving needed to be satiated every now and then. Neil never had a favourite meal nor did he witness the genuine warmth and joy that can be shared over a good family dinner. He'll eat healthy because he knows his body needs proper nutrition, but he also won't refrain from munching on the chloclate chip cookies Andrew hid behind the cereal in the cabinets. (Nicky will be acused of this theft later on, not that Neil will bother to clarify.) The point is just that the one time Katelyn convinced Aaron to actually gift something to Andrew for his birthday,  Aaron begrudingly agreed on baking a cake. (Katelyn was really enthusiastic about it so he didn't wanna let her down.) Now while the cake ended up tasting even more vile than it looked and Andrew was almost reluctant to even try a single bite - assuming his brother had finally snapped and was trying to poison him. Neil, the complete menace, inhaled one slice of cake, absently announced he'd just swallowed like 3 giant pieces of eggshells, then went back, ate another slice, concluded that he'd had worse before and went on to compliment Aaron, trying very subtly to give constructive critiscism. Not even Renee was kind enough to pretend to go for seconds. Aaron was just so shocked he almost started to respect Neil for a tiny second. When Neil told him 'The buttercream was very good, but you normally remove any eggshells before the mixing process.' he almost considered taking the advice. As though he'd ever try baking a cake again. Ever since that birthday Neil has gotten the honour of receiving flattering compliments such as 'he's basically a blackhole for food', 'we call him the human vacuum' and 'he eats like a vulture.' Neil doesn't bother clarifying these acusations to confused bystanders either...
