Leafy is resentful of Firey for not letting her on dream island and considers Her Own Actions his fault.(he Made me hit him bc he made me mad< detaching ownership of own poor behavior/downplaying her mistakes while holding others to an impossible standard) she cares about firey deeply and wants to be close to him, not understanding why he's pretending not to know her, but also refuses to search her own feelings or reflect on her actions and potentially take responsibility for her own part in their falling out, because she's in Defensive Mode

for Leafy, every criticism feels like someone telling her that she deserves the pain and suffering she's experienced. which is not true. Book is not saying that. but it Feels True to Leafy who is suffering from ptsd. it's a natural trauma response to get disproportionately angry at someone's criticisms when the previous time you were criticized, it led to you being given the death penalty and no one wanting to be around you anymore. Chased out whenever you attempted to make contact.. unless of course you had Something To Give! is it correct? no. is it normal? yes. is it healthy? it actually is a Blocker for any sort of growth !

at the same time, she has 'let go' of him not letting her on Dream Island in the sense that she no longer thinks he's a big jerk who she doesn't want to be friends with. He redeemed himself in her eyes when he rescued her on the hang glider the first time. Because Firey said then that he forgave her , Leafy genuinely considered them fair & square and even, and completely disregarded any further self reflection that her choices might have long term effects on how Firey feels as well !

she'll still bring it up, sure, as she does with Book - but only as Justification that she was in the right to steal dream island. as Punishment for Firey. it speaks volumes that she cares more about the piece of paper saying that she owns dream island than she seems to care about dream island itself. She only ever acts angry about the dream island fiasco when people are trying to hold her accountable for her behavior. She falls back on WELL YEAH BUT I WAS MAD. Leafy that isnt how this works ! But also : death penalty! Who Wouldn't be hung up on the reasons for committing their oh so heinous crime?

Even despite ALLL of this. Leafy wants to be friends with Firey!!! but he is hurt and afraid enough that he doesn't TRUST her emotionally. she has extreme disproportionate anger responses and is willing to shove Book around even in a normal conversation 😭 she's violent and justifies literally anything she does with Any Excuse. she's hurting. She isnt a perfect victim.
