I couldn't find the right fabric for Vi's pants so I decided to try to do my own by spraypainting stripes on a fabric with the right base colour. I had never tried this method before but I'm really happy with the end result. After washing the fabric it got a bit of a weathered look but I actually think that made it even better and will work really well with Vi's character and outfit! Excited as well as terrified to cut it!!

Heey, covid kinda put a stop to all conventions so haven’t been working on any costumes for a while but now I’ve fianlly started on my next project: Vi from the beautiful show Arcane. I played a littlew bit of Leauge of Legends many years ago but never became any hardcore fan but this show was so great. Being a big sis and with me just starting boxing last autumn I couldn’t help but relate so much to Vi. I really look forward to making her costume. <3Â
I will start making her outfit and then - if there is time left - I’ll make the gauntlets. Would be reeelly cool to make them too but let’s see how far I get in the coming months...
Tbt: At Närcon vinter 2014 I made a Spyro cosplay. Spyro the Dragon is my favourite game series from my childhood so this was a costume that I had wanted to do for quite some time. It was fun to use my own hairstyle for this costume and the wings on my back also worked as a small backpack, perfect for carrying some money and my phone!
I won a prize for “best idea” with this costume!
It’s been quiet here for a while. This year we’re taking a break from cosplay and instead focusing on making our first medieval outfits. We will take part in the Medieval week in Visby this summer and we’re working hard to finish our costumes until then.
Farbror majs is making leather shoes for us and a friend and I’m handsewing all our garments. It’s very cozy and we’ve finished our undergarments and I just finished my main dress. Now on to som “hosor”/ medieval socks.
I really want to make a pink-version Lars cosplay. I could basically use my current hairstyle so it shouldn’t be that much work other than the makeup. Hmmm. Hmmm!!
I’ve enjoyed this character quite a lot from the beginning of the show and I’m soo excited to see what happens next in the future episodes!

Tbt: At Närcon vinter 2013 I cosplayed as Rei Ayanami from Neon genesis Evangelion, one of my favorite animes.
I recently bought a blue wig for this costume so maybe I’ll wear it again soon.

No tbt post today - we're too busy finishing the last details on our costumes! I added some details to the costume today using textile paint and I was sooo nervous since I wouldn't be able to remove any missplaced color. Thankfully I was able to stay away from causing a disaster, but my mannequin has been standing in the living room all day - giving both me and FarbrorMajs heartattacks whenever we entered the room and mistook it for a person. O-O
TBT: In 2014 (?) we made Reese and Cyrus from Animal Crossing: New leaf. We made them for a costume party at our university but also used them at Närcon vinter. I adore this couple and have spent so many hours in this game so these costumes very really fun to walk around in, even though I would have liked another fabric for the costumes. 'o-o
I’m currently working on the jewelry for Mipha. I’m using with Fimo clay and I find it very easy to work with which is a relief since there are so many different parts. @-@ Once they’re done I’ll prime them and then spray paint them.

I've finished the nails for the hands and feets. It took some time but I'm satisfied with the result. A small tip: If you need to glue finger nails to a pair of tight gloves and you're using super glue - don't have your finger inside the glove. XD I nearly glued my finger to the glove while adding the first nail. I found that my tea infuser could be used instead, to fill out the fingers one at a time, and then I gently wiggled it while the glue dried to make sure it didn't get stuck.
FarbrorMajs is working on some pretty cool armor pieces tonight! :D I'm making finger nails out of paper and fabric which is boring and takes a lot of time D:

One of our latest costumes are these two that we made for Buffy’s 20th anniversary party here in Stockholm! We even won a price for best costumes and if was an amazing evening!
Btvs was part of my childhood and it’s such a great series that I’m not surprised that they were able to have not only one but 3 parties for the series in Stockholm in 3 years.Â

We’re still going strong! FarbrorMajs is currently working on his bodysuit and is carefully adding all the details to his base. Me myself have started on the base for my shoes. I know they look pretty weird right now, but I believe this will be a great base for Mipha’s toes.Â
FarbrorMajs will be away for 5 days on a business trip so I’ll have to try and survive on my own next week. I’ll miss him a lot. <3 I’m soo grateful we have cell phones in this world. qwq
For our next TBT post: on Närcon 2015 we cosplayed as Inklings from the game Splatoon.Â
Sadly we never took any more pictures of these costumes (We had made working weapons with water guns in them! It was amazing!!) and now they’re a bit destroyed and tainted since we used them in a water war at the convention.Â
I loved these characters and maybe someday we will find the motivation to remake them!Â

I’ve now finished the fins for Mipha. I made some research to find a good way to make them and found this solution really helpful. I used the same paper that I use for creating my patterns and then added details with my glue gun.
After that I covered the fins with multiple layers of liquid latex, which gave them a gummy feel. I then mixed acrylic paint with liquid latex and painted a few more layers in the colors I wanted.
I think they turned out really good and I’m currently attaching them to the rest of the costume.

Soo let’s start off with our costumes from last year where we cosplayed Miwako and Arashi from the manga and anime Paradise kiss! We both love this serie and this couple so it was a perfect match for us! <3
