Stripes.
Yeah, I've got two shawls still to finish so I decided to cast on a third. Have another one to make after one of the other two as well.
Moving forward, I'm not going to be using Ravelry to organize my active projects, not because I don't love it but because I love this notebook more. I used it for a year as my primary journal and ripped through three or four refills. This year, I'm switching to Moleskine type notebooks for journaling and using this as my knitting book for a few reasons.
It's expandable - rather than having a notebook that is kind of locked into its set number of pages, I can continue to add refills and archive them as I work.
It holds my notions - I've got the zipper envelope insert for it and it's perfect for holding my scissors, stitch markers and various other paraphernalia.
It can be a planner - this was part of my reason for buying it in the first place. The system mostly worked for me and I like the idea of being able to add a refill that will help me schedule out knitting projects.
What are you doing for organizing projects this year?
I wasn’t going to write a new one this year. But… Be kind to yourself in the year ahead. Remember to forgive yourself, and to forgive others. It’s too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand. Try to make your time matter: minutes and hours and days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin. Meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and show them to people who might enjoy them. Hug too much. Smile too much. And, when you can, love.

So true. All of it.
Full of holes.
That’s how another shawl starts… That yarn was only $3 per ball and its 50/25/25 superwash merino, bamboo rayon and nylon!
Where do you shop for yarn? That’s an amazing price!
Yarn was just from Joann Fabrics. My wife is a cross-stitcher and we went in for some floss for her and I noticed that all of the yarn was 25% off.

Went down that road again. #imabaker
Not convinced I'm ever going to finish this thing. The rows are now an age long.
Happy Christmas!
You may have noticed that all the posts have gone and that this doesn't look at all like the old site. That's because as the site progressed, I found myself wanting to push smaller updates and regular progress shots of my projects. With the Squarespace site, that was a bit of a major endeavor. I'm still using Squarespace for a different project, but Yarn Monster has moved to Tumblr. I wish I had a present to give at the moment or more of an update but that knitting project is still blocking so you're just going to have to be patient.
It's almost ready to be revealed. Almost.
