Anti-zionism is not antisemitism. Being opposed to the Israeli government enacting a genocide against the Palestinians is not antisemitism. Being opposed to Israel oppressing the Palestinians in an apartheid state, and massacring whoever they want in West Asia is not antisemitism. Being opposed to AIPAC in the U.S is not antisemitism.

Conflating Zionism with Judaism in the ethnic or spiritual sense is incredibly dangerous and unfair, especially to Jewish people who are against Israel. Even Jewish people themselves have been called antisemites for being against Israel's government. Implying that Jewishness and zionism are inherently and interchangeably linked is incorrect, deceitful, and manipulative. It's also a fucking ruse on part of the officials in Israel's government who know damn well what they're doing. You don't get to hold people hostage and call them an antisemite just because they don't support the Israeli government. People have valid and understandable reasons to oppose Israel's government, just like how people have understandable justifications for being against the U.S government. I know that there are good Israeli people and I don't lump them all together with the zionist agenda, because it's unfair to people in Israel that speak out against it. It would also be hypocritical of me to generalize Israeli people like that because I'm from the U.S. I don't want people associating me with my government's actions, so I'm not going to do the same to Israeli people. It's not naivety on my part, it's realism. It's not indulging in a false sense of pride. I give a fair portion of Israelis the benefit of the doubt. To not do so is intellectually indolent of me.
