Solas Hates You

Nearly two years, I’ve been playing this game, and I still find these little details…

Look at the expression on Solas’ face when he first meets the Inquisitor (and I’ve checked–it’s like this with any type of Inquisitor). This is during the intro, when uses the mark on the Inquisitor’s hand to close the rift. 

He’s not looking at the Anchor. He’s not looking at the rift. He’s looking at YOU.

Just a second later he’s all nice and wise and, “I am pleased to see you still live.” And, depending on your gender, race and choices, Solas can grow to care for and even love you. 

Was there ever a God

One of my personal headcanon is, that Solas is not even a god. Godlike powers yes, Immortal, maybe, but His words to Cassandra ring in my head.

I do not wish to start a debate, Its just what I believe.

“Ma vhenan, you must learn to control your rift magic, allow it to guide you. Feel it, taste it, then, move it. Do not overcome but flow. Your passion will not be lost in its power, but when you flow with it, it shall flow with you, and together, you shall bend the world to your will. Not before.”

A small thought I had of my Inquisitor Lavellan training with Solas regarding her rift magic (because she can let her passion guide her magic more often than control and discipline, despite her rather reserved nature in interpersonal interactions; basically, her magic is how she fuels all that remains unsaid).

I know she has her “Trainer” to help her but I feel like, since she and Solas are lovers and similar magic users, that she’d go to him for more guidance than her advisor, because first and foremost Vala’hani respects Solas’ power and discipline. They share an interest in spirits and using the Fade to guide them in their magic, and thus she’d admire Solas’ control over his magic, even if her magic is more directly tied, or enhanced, because of her mark.

Though, let’s be real here, the true reason Vala'hani Lavellan can’t concentrate is because Solas is half-naked trolololo. I am literal trash.

Also inspired by @kallielef and her dedication at providing Solas fanarts that make me pass out like a little school girl (seriously, the couch just appears when I faint like a drama queen). Also inspired that all you guys actually share your Solas/Lavellan stories and personalities and I just sit in the background going, “Damn I should be part of this community.” But am, like, too lazy and feel like no one would honestly care lmao.
