I still had a few things I wanted to mention that didn’t quite make it into the first one :P

- Sans lies about telling stormz and dumb about the iou? timestamp I don’t understand the purpose of this especially when this is his first interaction with Rylan

- During the conversation, sans seems to be trying to make a clear distinction. Sans talks about his gem almost being broken, and Rylan then tells him about how he was gem broken by Mtfl and has been in that situation before. Sans asserts that he had it worse, essentially invalidating Rylan’s own trauma by calling it “preformative” and “lacking repercussions”. He describes ehonks gembreak and tries to further establish how much worse it is now. Timestamp

- Timestamp I think sans is the only one in the Quakitus iou quintet (Lezy, coin, sten, Rylan, sans) that truly “understands” q as who she currently is. The others believe that q still has good in her, or is doing things not as “herself”. Sans knows, at least to some degree, how Quakitus works and the lengths that she is willing and ready to go. He knows that this is what she wants. He sees her adherence to her current mindset with the most comprehension; though this is almost definitely due to what he knows through the NDA and the connection that created.

- Sans’ pride is a really important part of his character. He really doesn’t like displaying vulnerability and takes badly to being put in positions of rejection, for example:

Or trying to hurt stormz when he was pushed away by monarchy. timestamp Interesting to note that this demonstrated the very self destructive and vindictive aspect of his pridefulness because of the potential it had to activate the nda iou. He also more directly displayed self destructiveness by threatening/offering to withdraw 5 energy. Timestamp

- Sans believes Gembreaking people is immoral timestamp, But thinks it’s okay when he did it to Le bc he had “valid reason to do it”. He said that him trying to gembreak sbn wasn’t bad bc he stopped himself. He doesn’t mention the fact that he just barely stopped himself and iirc only didn’t continue because of external factors. Also doesn’t mention him trying to gembreak Sten and Credit:

In the sans vod “preparation“, he only lets sten go because bingey threatens to close end shop for Sans, and earlier on Sbn tells sans that gembreaking was too far. Sans just says he “would rather have more [evergy]”.

And he gives up on going on to gembreak credit because credit goes offline

- After the initial break up of monarchy sans was so set on making the cut off mutual; He told them point blank that he doesn’t care for them. Since then he seems to have completely abandoned that perspective and reminisces with rose tinted glasses. It seems that Q telling sans that everything was stormz’ and dumbs’ fault (6/28 vod) seems to have had opposite of the intended effect; causing sans to place even more of the blame on himself and Quakitus over stormz and dumb.

-Sans’ interest in The End timestamp, “I’ve never been and I want to go” sans has had the goal of getting into the end for a good while, I think that this has been one of his only consistent goals. I still don’t know why exactly or what is motivating it but the consistency is something I’ve noticed.

Quakitus has already said, that with no effort on her end, that sans is already following the path that she took to get to her current point. Q lost herself trying to prove herself right, and now Sans will lose it all needing to prove her wrong. He is resolved to sacrificing sf, his own autonomy, his second chance with Hazel. Everything. to prove q wrong. He knows that is what q wants too, he said himself that Quakitus was exploiting his vulnerable mental and his isolation. He knows that Quakitus is only “good” when she needs something from you. Timestamp

Even despite being semi aware, he sounded so resigned. He sounds so convinced that he has to. He spent the whole conversation warning rylan, describing exactly why rylan should run in the opposite direction. Its so interesting how he ended by telling rylan to “take everything I said with a grain of salt.” Timestamp He spoke with such conviction that entire conversation, all to at the end try to sort of invalidate it? Second guessing his perspective because hes “biased”?
