for those out there who feel like their dissociation 'isn't enough' and feel like they're faking because of it, hey. maybe it's because you lived your entire life with this experience and got too used to it. but here's the thing, dissociation isn't just 'suddenly blacking out and having no memory of the entire past day' no matter how much its painted as that. not all dissociation is sharp and obvious.
forgetting passwords, forgetting names and people, forgetting your dreams, having too vivid dreams, insomnia, brain fog, face blindness, remembering your days like a blur, struggling to remember your schedule, school/work day gone too fast, forgetting to eat, forgetting to drink, derealization, depersonalization can all be caused by dissociation. i know its hard to accept but it is, just because you don't black out doesn't mean you don't dissociate; if you sit on your computer stopping for a second doubting your password or if you wake up feeling like that was a trainwreck of a dream then suddenly it stops being visible is caused by dissociation. if you're awake, looking around but having the feeling that something with the existence of the surroundings is wrong is also dissociation. if you suddenly remember that you forgot to eat that day, that you forgot to drink that day, the time is 3 am and even though you never blacked out and you were always there, is still dissociation.
if you grew too used to constantly living these little things, then you are probably ignoring your symptoms. so please stop the doubting. you're not fake, your dissociation is real, your amnesia is real and you are not lying. please remember this. you are a system, and it's okay to dissociate. it's not your fault.
I swear to god every system I have ever interacted with very specifically has an alter who happens to be ALL of these:
adult-presenting
masculine-presenting
british
is a gatekeeper
at least mildly an asshole
has had an unreasonable amount of power within/over the system since the beginning of time
enjoys tea
I am incredibly uncomfortable sharing private information with people i just met unless I can confirm that they are trustworthy (which uhhh HAH, never happens online basically)
it confuses me that some people are willing to share their system information like their SP or Octocon like its nothing.
arent yall worried about someone possibly using that info to take advantage of you or even hurt you?????
its not impossible, happened to me once a few years ago, it was really bad.
Dont be so inclined to sharing this kind of stuff. There really is no need to share it with strangers online.

"your trauma made you stronger" my trauma made me a deer constantly caught in headlights
mfs be like "I can handle your disorders" until your disorders disorder disorderly
"System culture is..." You know what system culture is? It's going to therapy and every time wondering why you're doing it. It's feeling broken. It's feeling like the world doesn't care. It's being retraumatized by living in a world that doesn't value the truth of your disorder or your experience. It's feeling like no matter how much you scream, no one will hear you. It's losing friends and family. It's feeling utterly alone and hopeless. It's feeling like nobody is listening. It's being angry at the injustice of having to put years into healing from something you never asked for. It's wanting to feel okay.
Hi! Its Icarus. I seem your system content. Are you one out of curiosity?
Yeah, i am :)
i am interested in ANY subculture about being an animal because i look for any excuse to be a dog around other people
furry? for sure, i want to dress up as a giant fluffy dog! therian? absolutely, i am a dog! pup play? sign me up, i love running around with other puppies & having pet play kink! pet regression? don’t have to ask me twice, i want to be a silly little puppy! kemonomimi? let me get my ears & tail!

Creating carvings/sculpturs; wood, soap, soapstone/gemstone, clay, etc.
If you're struggling with a disability, being kind and gentle with yourself; you are doing the best that you can

Try new hobbies/activities that allow you to work with your hands, especially creative and inventive endeavors
Learn about technology; try your hand at computers and the like

Learn how to build/craft things, such as bird houses or diorama-like art pieces
Practice self-acceptance; give love to yourself, especially when you're having a difficult time

Making a list of positive things you encounter throughout the day; try doing this each day
Embracing all of your feelings, but allowing them to be felt and released
Practicing patience; a lot of handiwork and craft work will help with this
Spending time with loved ones, especially found family
Playing video games you enjoy
If you have any walking aids or similar, customizing them and making them your own
Having pictures of ancient Greek architecture around, especially the Temple to Hephaestus
Learning a new skill; improving learned skills
Selling your personal art/crafts; taking commissions for your work

May add to this later on! For now, this is my list of discreet ways to worship Hephaestus. Take care, y'all; hope this helps someone! ❤️

PUNKS AGAINST ENDOS!
Something about the way bibliopunk/punk academia is treated on here Bugs Me and I think it can be best summed up as this:
You can't just throw the "punk" descriptor onto whatever you like and call it an aesthetic
Punk is not an aesthetic
Punk is a mindset, it's a philosophy-- it's a rebellion against societal systems
When I say bibliopunk, I don't mean sweater vests and old library photos and quotes from classics.
Bibliopunk, to me, a punk librarian, is about freedom of information. It's about making sure everyone and anyone can have the resources they need to learn, whatever that means for them. It's no late fees and fighting against censorship. It's defunding the police and funding community resource centers that specialize in making sure there's a place where people can go to ask for help, to read books on any subject they can think of, to connect with events and organizations that exist to help THEM. It's about making zines and learning how to bookbind, because fuck the idea that traditional publishing and Amazon are the only people that can make something a book.
Punk academia, which is used colloquially here, is related to this-- it's saying fuck the academic systems that keep out the poor, the people of color, and the disabled. Fuck your Ivy Leagues, education is whatever the hell you make it. College should be free, classes should be accessible WITHOUT being forced to give up all of your personal financial and health information, curriculums need to include as many varying perspectives as they can because fuck the idea that a cishet abled white man is the authority on any given topic.
Bibliopunk, punk academia, and any other Tumblr "aesthetic" with the punk descriptor is not just a moodboard of photos you stole from Pinterest.
Because what's more punk than a public library?
monsterous existence
They're in here somewhere but I sincerely hope they stay hidden at least until we get back into therapy cause YIKES that would be not goodᵗᵐ
