I feel like there's no key party at all and everybody just assumed there was one based mainly on that group cast pic and other possible coincidences. Someone pointed out how it looks like a cast meeting instead of an actual scene and it's obviously just a cast meeting the more I look at it. They're wearing masks and Cheryl's dressed more like Madelaine even. Help cause that'd be so funny if there really wasn't one when everyone thought there would be.

Title is Lock & Key.

Three ships (at least) had key emoji’s as teases. (vrchie,bghead & barchie)

The BTS pic had a bowl with what looked like keys in it.

RAS said he wanted to do it way back when, and somebody (Ted?) said they do something this ep that they’ve wanted to do since season 1.

Ep description calls Cheryl the Queen of Chaos and says she puts a risky plan in motion (bc of Toni)

And leading on from that.. I feel like it could parallel the party in season 1 with the game.

But then I agree about Chad, and what Madelaine is wearing. But from the above stuff I’d still lean more towards it being that, or something similar. But who knows.

I hadn't known about the other things so that makes a bit more sense. Though, I wonder if it's an actual key party or if it's something similar without the sexual aspect of it. Like they just work together on a mystery or something instead of hooking up. I can't see the couples, at least not Chad, agreeing with this otherwise lol.

Just remembered the ep is called "lock and key" which might explain away the key emojis as nothing but just relating specifically to the episode title.

So funny to me that barchie cheating with each other apparently taints them as a ship but not bh and va? I was just reading on twitter some va’s trying to just.. excuse away 4x17 and 4x18 saying that’s all we cared about.

But how can Archie cheating on Veronica, writing a song for Betty saying that she makes him feel stronger, that they should try and that it FEELS RIGHT (with her) not matter? Like...?

And then yes, he didn’t really apologise for it.

Then again they don’t even acknowledge Veronica’s insecurity of Betty through the seasons either.They don’t want to know.

I saw some say something about forgiveness and someone else was like how can she forgive him if he never apologized lol and it's true. He was never sorry for it and even when/if Veronica gets a divorce he'll still choose Betty if she wants him. He'd only go back to V if he got turned down by Betty again. Though, I'd hope he'd respect her enough not to do that again.

I won't speak for them and pretend I'm a Veronica stan but god I'd be so mad if Archie treated Betty like that. It'd ruin the ship for me and I'd want better for her as much as it'd annoy me to have to let the ship go. Then after he told V about the cheating, every couple moment between them and their goodbye scene were all initiated by her while he just was just like "alright." At least Betty tried with Jughead, Archie was literally just standing there when it came to Veronica (when he wasn't annoyed with her for wanting to pretend they were still together.) He really did her so dirty.

I can see why the va shippers would want to sweep it all under a rug or pretend none of it happend bc wow lol. I can't even take them serious bc of all that but then they really believe Archie will run to V when she gets a divorce as if he didn't already do all of the above and is now happily spending his time with Betty while only approaching V to ask for money. He can still be friends with V while she's married but he doesn't really seem interested in that even. Not saying he hates her presence or anything wild but he's sure as hell not trying to mend anything between them or trying to spend time with her like he is with Betty.

Oh god. Every other time Jughead speaks I want to beat him up. "I'm a weirdo" or dramatic ass lines like he's a read-aloud, 18th century piece of literature. Instead of just saying "the five seasons was getting too expensive" he said "it's a little rich for my blood" mf shut up and start paying rent. I know Betty was tired of it.

The "barchie has no emotional connection" claim really sends bc they're BEST FRIENDS, not complete strangers or even exes. They have been since they were 4 years old and still are at 25 with this new aspect of their relationship.

Even after going off to college, and the army and 7 years apart, they still fall back together like no time has passed. They basically just pick up where they left off without the complications of being in other relationships this time. Can't be said about b*ghead or v*rchie even though barchie also had their own problems before separating.

There's obviously something there that keeps them anchored together throughout the years and all the changes they brought with them. They don't even need to use words to get what the other is thinking like what's not clicking for these people?
