(Inspired by the novel Normal People By Sally Rooney, TW this novel will deal with heavy topics surrounding PTSD, depression and anxiety)

Fast forward 7 years and immediately after hooking up for the first time, she couldn't friend zone them any faster. As far as Archie is concerned, he is a mere scratch of an itch to Betty. So far there has been no reason for him to believe she is interested in more than that.

Insert Varchie. The original source of Betty and Archie's conflict dating back to Season 1. I don't believe for a second the writers have any desire to go back to Varchie at this time but it's brilliant to utilize the iconic Betty/Archie/Veronica triangle on the journey to Betty and Archie finally admitting to themselves and each other how they feel.

It's like a big game of Uno Reverse Riverdale style. In Season 4 when Betty turned Archie down, it was after she remembered him breaking her heart in Season 1. Season 5 is giving them the opportunity to fix that.

I think Betty is going to get jealous of Archie and Veronica's friendship and old wounds will open. Archie is going to get jealous of Glenn. It's going to get all tense and messy ultimately leading to them having to face the way they feel about each other.

Also not for nothing but I find it really hard to believe after Archie cheated on her with Betty in high school that Veronica would be down for anything more once she learns Barchie have been banging it out all over town in secret. So there is also that.
