So idk if you'll read this or do it, but it's worth a shot.
Could you do a zanka x bayonetta like reader ( based of the cereza and the lost demon game. When she first got Into the cleaners, zanka thought she was weak just by looking at her,but that was until he saw her fight fir the first time.
You could do it if you want, not many people know about bayonetta-
Guess she isn't so weak after all.
Pairing: Zanka X Bayonetta like Fem! Reader(Pre Relationship)
Warnings/tags: ooc, PROOF READ FOR ONCE,
a/n: I tried rlly hard to make the character like Cereza (younger Bayonetta) from the game with NO previous history of that game so it's prolly not exactly like her. ALSOO I somehow forgot that you can only destroy a trash beast with a jinki so that's mb...
Just before Rudo, the 'Natural', arrived it had been a good minute since any new cleaners had joined. Which was not a surprise to anyone, especially to the ones who worked the job itself. Givers were hard to come by on the ground, not even speaking of the sphere. Not to mention, not many would want to work a job where any day it could be there body being buried with the trash.
So when Enjin walked in HQ with a teenage girl with a large stuffed cat held close against to her side, it was not much of a surprise. Enjin after all had an especially bad habit of taking kids in. With Riyo, who was formally an assassin, and Zanka who was a Hell guard trainee beforehand. And he did not exactly know what to make of her exactly when he first saw her.
"So," Enjin gripped the girls shoulders bringing her to stand directly in front of him, as she has been cowering behind the tall man before. "This right here is the newest member of Team Akuta, meet (Y/N)!" She looked about Riyo's age though acted completely differently from her. She seemed shy, does not even look that strong either. The clothes she wore on her back were neat and pristine, everything about her was except the scuffed cat plush animal her thin arms tried so hard to keep close to.
Zanka openly scrutinized her, which you had very easily taken notice so you avoided your eyes from his. Instead, your gaze slid to the girl standing next to the tall guy. She was shorter than him, with pretty red tied up intricately and cat like eyes slightly similar to your own. The red haired girl approached you and the grip on your plush tightened.
"Hey girl, I'm Riyo," her greeting came out sweet, even a little teasing. Her small hands swept through your hair and you stiffend from her touch. "Woah, your hair is so long and glossy. You have to let me style it sometime."
You felt your face heat up and you gave a timid nod. "Uh okay!" Riyo continued talking to you, well more like at you, about how excited she was to have another girl to hang around. As nice as she seemed, you could not help for your eyes to be glued on the the tall boy that had been staring down at you. His blue eyes looked down at you with scorn, easy for anyone to catch. You gave him a tiny nod. His eyes widened for a split second, before he had walked away.
Riyo, who noticed your crestfallen face laughed. "Oh that's Zanka, don't mind him he's always like that. He'll warm up to you soon enough." But soon never came. Even at your welcome party, Zanka hardly made any attempt to try to interact you. When Enjin had forced the two of you to try and train together, his face only grew darker whenever you made a mistake. And when you had actually done something right for once, it still felt like you deserved to be you looked the way he looked at you.
Soon, the day of your first ever mission had. While you had seen cleaners take down trash beasts before, this will be your first time actually being in the midst of it. Nervous as had been all day, you were also excited. You had been training so much, even late at night, unaware of anyone who might have been watching you. Also unaware that Zanka himself was to go on the mission with you.
So now there you were, you, Zanka, and a supporter in the middle of a wasteland, nothing but trash surrounding the three of you. While silently walking behind Zanka, your Jinki already activated. Cheshire, which was currently strapped to your back, had turned into something more resembling a clock, which was in the very center of its tummy with the tale much longer than before. The moment you gave that tail a sharp tug, that is how time will slow. Luckily, August was able to work around this when creating your cleaner uniform, and was able to tuck the tail at your side so it would not catch at anything. To anyone else, it looked like a simple decoration.
After who knows how long of walking, the ground beneath you started to shake. Zanka, almost like he was born to do this, entered a tactical position and you immediately did the same. He has more experience than you in this. so you tried to copy exactly what he did. Or that is at least what you tried to tell yourself. Because you knew within the deepest parts of your core Zanka thought you were weak. No, he knew you were weak.
It was late at night, the same day you had arrived. You always expected the cleaners to be these strict and straight foward individuals. Only to be met by people who were excited to meet the new recruit. And people who really liked to drink, so the welcome party had dragged on pretty late at night. And though it was fun, less than halfway through meeting everyone you were already feeling drained. Not to mention everyone kept on comparing you to this girl named Eishia, who was really nice!
So now you were finally retreating back to your room when you heard voices coming from a few rooms away from yours. You did not mean to listen in, but the voices just sounded so similar. One of them like Zanka's voice, who has barely spoken to you all day.
"I just don't get it, the cleaner's don't seem like a good fit for her," the voice came out muffled, but it was very obvious what you heard. Zanka saying someone is not a good fit for someone. And that someone obviously being you. Even when he had never seen you fight before.
Another voice came through this time, sounding just like the man who brought you to the cleaners. The very man who saw the very first time you used the power that seemed to come so suddenly. "It's fine Zanka. That's what training is for, she may be weak for now but-"
You stepped back from the door, not even bothering to listen to the rest. 'Weak for now,' that is what you were. Just a few doors down your room was there, where you could easily rest you head and take it easy. That is what you wanted to do. Lay your head on your pillow and forget about what you heard. Or you could turn left, to the other side of the hallway and take the stairs down. And down those stairs led right out of the building, where so many dangerous things layed. By the time Enjin and Zanka had left the room you were gone, not even in your room.
Through the window though on the opposite end of the hallway Enjin noticed a small figure on the training ground. He walked toward it, a small chuckle leaving his mouth the moment he saw who it was. "Well won't you look at that." Zanka, who had followed took a look as well. To see you running laps, obviously stumbling from your lack of stamina. "Watch out, soon you'll be the one running behind Zanka."
But instead, he layed frozen on the ground. You stood unmoving, every ounce of confidence that you had in you evaporated from your body a long time ago. It was only you now. Zanka, after getting in the way of a heavy blow was now resting with the supporter getting first aid. You were scared. So, so scared. This thing could easily kill you in a second. While it was only one remaining, it was the biggest one out of the few you have seen.
You could easily run, just like you did on the training grounds when you did not know what to do. Your stamina has improved due to the training you have done both in and out of sight. You could run, but just not away. That would mean you are weak, proving that Zanka was right. With him lying on the ground like that, you knew you could not just leave. You looked around, looking for anything that could help you against the large trash beast roaming around.
"Your jinki ain't the most offensive. So actually defeating a trash beast would require you to gain a lot more physical strength and being able to adapt with your environment." Zanka's words from one of the many time Enjin forced the two of you train together flooded your head. You gripped the metal beam in your hand. It was heavy and weighed on your body, but you still kept it steady.
Zanka's eyes fluttered open and so did his mouth. He need to tell you something, anything. To yell out to you to give up. But before he could though you were gone. Dust, trash and debris flying through the air the moment you kicked off, which alerted the trash beast of your presence. The moment the thing saw your small figure, its large body came hurling towards you at full force. And it was fast. Faster than you could ever imagine. It would not be fast for long though. With your other hand, you reached down and yanked on Cheshires tail and with a loud screech the world had gone slow. Even sound itself changed, like the world had just taken its first breath while you have been breathing for as long as you could remember. It was miles behind you.
Yet even now, you knew it would not be enough. 'Work with your environment,' that is what you have to do. You knew no matter what, that trash beast was to big for you to scale step by step. So then instead of destroying it from top, you have to take it down from the bottom.
Both hands gripped the metal beam you had that your side you feet stared to as you pushed yourself to run even harder. You have to take it down before it gets to them. Before it gets to Zanka. The front legs of the trash beast are getting close, close enough to get your first hit in. You move yourself to the side and jump, swinging as fast and hard as you could. Retreating farther away from the trash beast, you avoid the falling trash from obliterating its front leg. You can already see the damage of that one hit, as the body of the trash beast tilts dangerously to the side, so you keep going.
You land a wide hit at the hind leg. And at the hind leg next to it, then another when that one hit does not work. Next at the front, and finally at the head. Your arms work into the trash beast over and over again, beating into it until you know its been destroyed. At some point, you finally had hit the core, destroying it completely.
Your breaths are short and but heavy, your lungs burn and your arms as well. It is dead. You are sure you are. You back away wobbly, as far as you can. Because the moment you try to deactivate, it will not do that, instead your power will it flipped onto you before doing so. Though it is a small price to pay, until it small that is. Just a few paces away you spot Zanka and the supporter staring at you. You can not discern there expressions. You can not even handle the bear of your power anymore. So you deactivate.
For them, 9 regular seconds pass of your slow motion act. But for you it is 18 long and grueling seconds. Everything went slow and you hated it. Your body, your breathing, even your thoughts went at a pace you just were not used to. Yet you could understand every little thing that happened. A part of you wished it was not like this for anyone else when the world goes slow. Maybe you had it wrong all along and it was actually just you moving faster than everyone else. At least that is what you hoped, which is what you thought as your body fell to the ground, before returning back to normal with your face crashing into piles on piles of trash.
You faded in and out of consciousness on the way back to HQ, your body tucked into what felt like an arm with it around you shoulder. With the last thing being Zanka's voice, whispering who knows what to you. You felt yourself get picked up and carried off to who knows where, though it did have the similar scent of the infirmary. That is all you remember until completely passing out.
The amount of time that had passed while you were asleep was unknown, though it must have been a while since you were now waking up with the sky a bright orange. Your body slowly rose up from lying down. You were sore, so sore in fact that you could barely even do that. "Take it easy," you heard a male voice coming from beside you and then a steady arm pushing you back down. You were not the only person in there, because Zanka was with you to. He supported your body until your head softly hit the fluffy pillow below you.
This was had been the nicest he has ever been to you since you have arrived. While he was still giving you the same mean look, there was not something else behind his expression. Something you could not place no matter how much you tried. Not to mention, it looked like his ears were a little red. Though you did not think about that for, because something important was missing from you.
"Where's Cheshire," you got back up, no matter how much your body screamed at you to stop. "Where is he?" You looked up at Zanka pleadingly, not caring you weak you make to look to him right. He flinched at your gaze before sighing.
"Calm down. Your cat is in your room, don't worry." Zanka voice which sounded reassuring, only just made you even more worried.
"I need him though." The small plea that came from your mouth was quiet, invisible even, but Zanka heard it perfectly clear. Givers usually do not like others touching there jinki, so him go getting it was not exactly an option. Zanka groaned, hiding his face behind his hand for for just a second.
"Alright, if that's what you need." He removed the blanket from on top of you buried his arms underneath your legs and waist before lifting you up. Your arms flew to his neck, tem wrapping around it tightly. Surprisingly, Zanka did not tell you to stop, just pulled you closer in his arms. The two of you made the way to your room silently, ignoring the whispers and stares others made towards the two of you as he walked for you. Though with each one he only seemed to walk faster, especially when Enjin saw the two of you guys. "By the way," Zanka whispered quietly, "you did good today."
You stared up at him in shock, and his face only turned into a sharp scowl at your reaction. You did not care though, you just smiled. "Thanks Zanka." You pulled your arms tighter around, and he did the same.
ENDING NOTEEE: While writing this I made this SUPER detailed explanation of like how her Jinki would work (I didn't stick exactly to that) but i just wanna share that with you guys đĨš
Jinki/Vital Instrument Explanation (skip this if you want to) : Her vital instrument is Cheshire, the stuffed cat her mother had made for her. And it basically gives her the ability to slow down time 9 times, with time moving half as fast each time she activates it. And she were to use her power 9 times in quick succession, the world will go 512x slower. Only drawback is that once the she uses all 9, her power flips on her for exactly 9 seconds, making her go half as fast during that window, giving opponents a window to easily get a hit in. Also she can only keep the world slower for a relatively short amount of time, though she is able to work on that through training.
