Pairing: Damian wayne x reader
Summary: Damian Wayne seeing you off to work
Content: aged up damian wayne . fluff . one shot . occ damain
It was a cold Gotham morning. You could hear the wind making its way from the window you opened earlier to the sun catchers, making the little beads you wove yourself clink together, forming a soft, calming, almost melodic sound.
It was too early to hear the busy streets, but every now and then you would pick up the sound of cars honking out of habit as you got ready for work.
You smiled softly, drinking what's left of your tea while petting Cloudy. Cloudy was a stray cat you adopted a few months ago after finding it near a dumpster. Its fur resembled its name, a deep gray color with little spots of white that you were sure would fade when it got older.
After tossing the mug in the sink, you made your way to your room, carefully opening the door, trying not to wake Damian. His face was soft; his normally furrowed eyebrows relaxed, pressing against the pillow while breathing softly, chest rising rhythmically.
You paused a bit, admiring his relaxed form. He rarely overslept, and you weren't one to wake up your probably sleep-deprived boyfriend. You crept across the room and quickly dressed yourself before slipping out again, softly closing the door behind you.
You passed through the living room, heading towards the front door.
"Hmm, I don't think I'll need a jacket..." you muttered under your breath before grabbing the keys.
Hearing the door creak behind you, you thought nothing of it, assuming it's cloudy padding over towards you.
Glancing over your shoulder, you startled slightly, finding your boyfriend across the hallway, his hair tousled, eyes barely open as he made his way toward you.
You smiled warmly as he tugged you into an embrace, melting into his arms, and rested your face against his chest.
"Good morning, habibati," he whispered, voice laced with grogginess, "are you heading for work?"
You hummed, "It's still a bit early. I wanted to stop at the new cafe across the street to grab some coffee."
You pulled away softly before pressing a kiss on his nose. "i'll be off then."
He planted a firm yet gentle squeeze on your waist. Before reaching for the scarf and wrapping it around your neck, letting it land on your chest, then pulling your hair out, adjusting the strands so they could frame your face.
He took a step back, admiring his work, his eyes shining in a way that was only visible if you looked close enough.
"Perfect."
You raised an eyebrow, barely concealing your smile.
"You're staring," you chimed.
"Merely observing," he cut in.
"Observing what? My face?"
"My handiwork, obviously."
You looked down at the scarf before rolling your eyes
"Keep telling yourself that, boy wonder"
His lips twitched into a faint smile, opening the doorknob for you.
His hands found yours, giving you one last squeeze as you slipped out into the Gotham streets.
Luckily, you had a scarf and warm affection towards a certain someone, keeping you comfortable.
looking through the gmail drafts of my old account and accidentally stumbling upon some OLD OLD OLD OLD writing and yelling "FUUUCK" out loud (audible) in fear and despair and regret and cringe too i guess? before slamming my laptop shut. may it never escape

⠀⠀ how would the batboys react to you calling them once and immediately hanging up
— fem!reader, fluff & swearing, 0.4k words each (approx.), established relationships, husband!bruce, boyfriend! dick, jason, tim and damian (separately)
bruce wayne
you were at home having a you day, he knew that. so much so that he made everyone leave you alone that night and him himself, kept busy at wayne enterprises.
so imagine to his surprise his dear wife calling him out of nowhere and immediately hanging up?
bruce prides himself on answering your calls on the second ring at most. yet you didnt give him a chance for the first ring to come… somethings up. and his first thought is to call you until you answer.
you dont. you let your phone ring on the couch as you giggle at it. dick had told you to do this prank on him since hes seen it on tiktok. you thought it was cruel at first, bruce has always a lot on his plate and is too extreme, what if he thought something happened with his beloved wife?
my hubby🖤: [5 missed calls]
my hubby🖤: my love are you alright?
my hubby🖤: im on my way home, be there in ten.
he comes in the manor like lighting, calling out your name immediately. you can hear him already calling someone up since the house was too quiet for his liking.
then he hears a giggle from the kitchen that makes him lower his phone. you emerge from the open space to the foyer where you laugh at him, coming to give him an embrace.
“brucie dont worry im alright” you mumble with a smile. he looks down at you, his grip white on his phone. he looks relieved, thats for sure, but he was shaken up. his black hair was tussled, like he was running his fingers through it in stress.
he gently cups your face, “darling…” his fingers slightly shaking as he lets his phone slip in his pocket. “why’d you scare me like that? i thought something serious happened to you” he says in one breath, dropping down his forehead with yours.
your laugh vibrates agaisnt his chest, coming to grab his hand in yours. “im so sorry… dick told me to test it out with you”. your soft hands come to rub against the slight stubble on his sharp jaw, smoothing out the wrinkles under his blue eyes. “let me draw you a nice warm bath yeah? ive stressed you too much for my own liking”.
his shoulders drop with a small smile on his face, nodding and pressing a kiss to your forehead “id love that”.
dick grayson
you were at a much needed girls night at your friends apartment. it was hard with schedules and the curve balls life throws at you all but here you guys are.
dick was excited for you to finally have a night off with your best friends, ever the supportive boyfriend. he told you to call him if any emergencies happen and to text him when you wanted to go home
and poor dickie didnt knew one of your girl friends had a prank in store for him. she had saw this trend on tiktok and wanted to see which boyfriend of the group would reply first
you laughed at it, saying it wasnt a good idea (as you open up your dear boyfriends contact and set it flat on the table as your other taken friends do)
after a hushed countdown, you press the call button and all hang up at the same time. you looked at your phone screen with dicks profile picture that you had for him, a photo of him smiling next to haley.
not even a beat after, your phone lights up again with a call and nonstop messages from your boyfriend.
your girls look at you shocked. their boyfriends didnt even leave a message while yours is blowing up your device. you give them a sheepish look as you grab your phone off the table and answer the second call he made, pressing your phone against your ear.
“baby? did something happen? are you guys in danger?” he spat out the second you called him back. you laugh much to his dismay and you bet he’s furrowing his eyebrows right now.
“no dick im sorry, me and the girls decided to do a trend on our boyfriends to see who called back first” you reply holding back your laughter. he groaned on the line which made you hold it a little less
“sweetheart dont do that to me, didnt i tell you to call me for emergencies?” dick whined on the line and you had to cover the bottom speaker with your hand so your girls would hear
“i hope i didnt scare you too much, i love you so much okay? i wont do it again”. you mumble to him with your warm voice, you swear you can hear him smile over the call
“i love you so much more, text me when your ready to go home”.
jason todd
jason has been through a lot, to say the least. hes constantly on edge, trying to keep himself and the ones he loves alive, that included you, his girlfriend.
you knew it was dangerous for you to play this prank on him, his responses to things are like a militaries, precise and fast.
so to your surprise, the second you hung up you hear silence. no call back, no message, nothing. its too quiet for your liking, its so… out of your boyfriend. you’d at least expect a call back or…
buzz. the sound of your doorbell rang, snapping out of your thoughts. it was late at night, late enough you know its not safe to be walking in the streets of gotham so.. who the hell was it.
you make slow steps to the door, reaching on your toes to check thru the peepy hole. a sigh leaves your mouth and the weight on your shoulders drops as you unlock your apartment door.
jason is there, holding his helmet in one hand as the other held the doorway. he was puffing and his neck trickled with sweat. he looks at you and drops everything. the loud of his helmet dropping is loud enough that definitely woke up some neighbors.
he grabs your face, checking for any sign of harm or blood before exhaling on your face and pulling you into a kiss. you sigh into it before pulling away with your hands on his chest, sweat sticking to the cotton makes you wonder if he ran up the stairs instead of the elevator.
“did you speed to get here? youre sweating and heaving like crazy” you murmur, rubbing your thumb on his cheek.
“maybe, you called me outta nowhere and hung up too quickly, scared me shitless babydoll…” he murmurs on your face, wrapping his arms around you, inhaling your scent that made him feel grounded.
safe to say that night you were cuddled by a very clingy jason todd.
tim drake
nights with your boyfriend at patrol were boring, especially when youre at the manoe. he insists you wait there until he gets back so he can sleep in your arms but.. what to do in this big but quiet place?
having seen the trend before made you wonder how tim would react to it, you think for a bit, maybe doing it while he is at patrol isnt the best idea but… dating a vigilante isnt either right?
after the first ring you hang up. you cant contain your excitement, giggling to yourself as you watch your phone for any type of response.
and it comes, a few messages but it… stops? you tilt your head confused before grabbing to see what had he sent.
love <33: love?
love <33: did you call by accident?
love<33: anything happened? let me know please
you scoff, audibly so. he seemed so… calm? what if you were in trouble? what if you were kidnapped? you were fuming and highly offended, pressing the call button with such force.
the second he picks up, you were already raising your voice “tim what if i were dying and that youd think it was an accident?”.
then a laugh cuts though the line, it makes you stop. why is he laughing? what could possibly funny in this?
“my love you do know i have access to all the cameras in the manor.. right?” tims voice finally dies down from the laugh but you can hear his teasing tone loud and clear
your face flushes, covering your face with your free hand. he keeps talking on the line, asking why youre so quiet but you cant help but feel ashamed… of course trying to prank your techy boyfriend would never work.
“i will be burying myself tonight, thank you” you mumble which makes him laugh even harder and you swear you want to hang up in his face.
“okay right, i love you too freak, see you soon” tim says with a light tone that makes you groan and hang up and you know he will tease you for life about this. lucky him that you love him too…
damian wayne
your boyfriend wasnt loud in any means, and that included protecting you.
of course you were his top priority, always being there for you. but that also meant that he sometimes took things too far… just like his father does.
so much so, that when you called and hung up, all you got was a call back and silence.
frankly you were worried for what might happen. maybe he didnt care? maybe he thought nothing of it in which would lead to another normal night.
but no… its never a normal night with a wayne. as you were about to call him back to see if everything was alright, your window crashes open.
you immediately duck down to see what the fuck broke your window or worse who broke your window…
as you peak your head up, you can listen to your boyfriends mumbling and the sound of heavy footsteps. ducking from out of the couch, you look at him shocked, because what did he just do??
“damian what the hell?” you sound out and his head whips to yours, his breath calms down and he looks… relieved?
he makes quick steps to you and flops on top of you, nuzzling his face in the crook of your neck while mumbling apologies to you.
“i thought you were in trouble and wanted to catch the bad guy unsuspected” he mumbles embarrassed while pressing small kisses on your neck and melting into you.
you just laugh and start to massage his hair. you can scold him tomorrow about jumping to conclusions and for breaking your window but for now, youre going to enjoy his affection.

request anon could i maybe request batfam with reader who’s their twin? kinda like how they would act with them and that kinda thing <3
content platonic!batfam & reader, twin!reader (undisclosed as fraternal or identical, no pronouns used), childhood trauma, grief/loss, vigilante!reader in some, civilian!reader in others, fluff, identity issues, separation anxiety, codependency themes, apologies in advance i had no inspo ;((
characters bruce wayne, dick grayson, jason todd, tim drake, damian wayne, duke thomas, cassandra cain, stephanie brown (all here)
masterlist
bruce wayne
Bruce would insist that being born seven minutes earlier makes him the older sibling. He would bring it up only when attempting to order you around, while conveniently forgetting that you were born on the same day whenever you tried to claim authority over him.
Before the alley, the two of you would be nearly inseparable. Bruce was always the quieter twin, watching while you spoke for both of you at parties, tugging on your sleeve whenever he wanted to leave. You knew every tiny sign of his discomfort before he had the language to explain it.
After your parents’ deaths, Bruce would become fiercely protective. Not because he thought you were incapable, but because you were the only piece of his original family he had left. Losing you would feel like losing Thomas and Martha all over again, only worse, because this time he would believe he should have been able to stop it.
His disappearance to train would cause the largest fracture your relationship had ever experienced. He would leave you with a painfully restrained letter, convinced distance would keep you safe. You would be furious because he had made the decision for both of you—as though his grief was a mission and yours was simply something to be managed.
When he returned as Batman, you would recognise him almost immediately. The posture, the pauses between sentences, the particular way he tilted his head when studying someone—Bruce could disguise himself from Gotham, but not from the person who had shared a nursery with him.
You would be one of the only people capable of calling Batman ridiculous without being remotely intimidated.
“You are dressed as a bat.”
“It is tactical.”
“You have ears.”
“They contain communication equipment.”
“They are pointy, Bruce.”
Whether you joined him in the field or remained a civilian, Bruce would secretly treat you as his emotional emergency contact. Alfred might be the person who raised him, but you are the person who remembers who Bruce was before Batman consumed so much of him.
The children would quickly realise that you possess twin privileges. You can interrupt cave brooding, remove files from his hands, criticise his meal-skipping and tell embarrassing childhood stories without being banished from the manor.
Bruce would be deeply offended whenever one of the children called you the better Wayne twin. Mostly because you would smile and say, “Obviously.”
dick grayson
You and Dick would have performed together from the moment you could walk. The Flying Grayson twins would have been marketed as a matching pair: mirrored costumes, synchronised movements and the kind of trust that could only exist between two people who had spent their entire lives catching one another.
Dick would be the more openly dazzling twin. He loved the applause and played toward the audience, while you were often the steady point around which his performance revolved. He could leap because he knew you would be there.
After the fall, neither of you would know how to exist separately from the circus—or from your parents. You would sleep in the same room at Wayne Manor for months, despite Bruce preparing two bedrooms. Sometimes one of you would wake from a nightmare and discover the other already awake.
Dick would become extremely clingy after the loss, although he would disguise it beneath brightness. He would appear in whatever room you occupied, drape himself across your furniture and begin talking about nothing. He would never say, I need to see that you’re still here. He would simply make sure you were.
If you became a vigilante beside him, your teamwork would be terrifyingly seamless. You could communicate through glances, shifts in balance and unfinished sentences. Criminals would assume you were using comms when, in reality, Dick had twitched one eyebrow and you understood the entire plan.
There would absolutely be twin acrobat nonsense on patrol. You would launch Dick across rooftops without warning. He would catch you mid-fall while laughing. Bruce’s blood pressure would become Gotham’s most endangered resource.
Dick would love being mistaken for you, even if you looked nothing alike.
“I’m actually the attractive Grayson.”
“We are twins.”
“Exactly. Devastating news for you.”
As he got older, Dick would occasionally struggle with the fact that everyone relied on him. You would be one of the few people who noticed when his smile became an act. With you, he would not need to be Nightwing, Batman’s first partner or the dependable eldest brother. He could simply be Dick.
He would tell you almost everything, but he would still hide his worst injuries. His logic would be that you had already watched too many Graysons fall.
Any romantic partner would have to survive the Twin Assessment. It would not be intentionally threatening, but Dick would sit beside you, share a glance after every answer and somehow make the poor person feel as though they had attended the strangest job interview of their life.
jason todd
Growing up together in Crime Alley would make the two of you a unit before either of you understood the word family. You shared food, clothes, blankets and escape routes. There was no Jason without you and no you without Jason—not because you lacked individuality, but because survival had always been a two-person job.
Jason would claim he was older, even if the difference was less than a minute. He would use this as justification for giving you the larger portion of food because “older siblings are supposed to provide.” You would recognise the trick. You would let him believe you did not.
He would be intensely protective, but not controlling. Jason knew what it was like to have adults make choices for you, so he would respect your autonomy even while hovering three feet away and glaring at anyone who made you uncomfortable.
Bruce taking Jason in would be conditional: Jason would refuse to go anywhere without you. He would stand in the cave, small and furious, and tell Batman that he could either take both of you or leave both of you (while you glare at him for being caught by BATMAN)
At the manor, Jason would remain vigilant about your comfort. He would steal books for your bedroom, check whether you were eating and memorise which floorboards creaked outside your door. Even after you were safe, part of him would continue preparing for the safety to disappear.
His death would devastate you in a way few people could fully understand. It would not simply feel like losing a sibling. It would feel as though half of your internal language had been ripped away. You would keep thinking things you needed to tell him and then remember there was nowhere for those thoughts to go. you become a shell of yoursels
Jason’s return would be messy. He might watch you from a distance for weeks because he would be terrified that seeing him would destroy whatever healing you had managed. Meanwhile, you would recognise him through grainy Red Hood footage from one familiar movement—the way he rolled his left shoulder before a fight.
Your reunion would not be graceful. There would be anger, disbelief, probably a punch to his chest, and then you would cling to him so tightly his armour would press painfully into your ribs.
Jason would pretend he hated any suggestion of “twin telepathy,” but the two of you would text each other at the exact same moment with unsettling frequency.
You would be one of the few people permitted to touch his white streak without warning. Sometimes, when his memories felt fragmented and his body felt unfamiliar, you would trace the strand between your fingers and quietly remind him, “Still you.”
Jason would be softer with you than anyone else. Not less sarcastic, because that would be medically impossible, but softer. You knew him before Robin, before death, before the Pit and before the helmet. Around you, he would not have to choose which version of himself was real.
tim drake
You and Tim would have been frighteningly observant children. The Drake household would often feel too large and too quiet, so you made a world within it together—coded notes, elaborate games, secret midnight snacks and entire conversations conducted through expressions across formal dinner tables.
Tim would rely on you as his social translator. He could analyse a criminal network in seconds but still occasionally need you to whisper, “They were joking, Tim.”
You would know about Batman and Robin long before Tim confessed his theories. He would attempt to hide his photographs and case notes, only for you to sit beside him and casually correct a date in his timeline.
When he decided Batman needed a Robin, he would try to leave you out of it. This would last approximately twelve minutes.
“It’s dangerous.”
“You followed Batman around Gotham with a camera.”
“Carefully.”
“You fell off a fire escape.”
“That happened once.”
Tim would not be overtly protective in the same way as Jason or Damian. His protectiveness would manifest as contingency plans. Your phone would contain hidden emergency software. Your jewellery might include a tracker. Your apartment would have security upgrades you did not request but admittedly appreciated.
If you were also a vigilante, you would be the only person capable of keeping pace with Tim’s rapidly mutating plans. He would begin explaining something at step four, and you would already be assembling step nine.
The family would find your arguments deeply unnerving because neither of you would raise your voice. You would simply dismantle one another’s logic with increasingly precise evidence until someone—usually Dick—begged you both to fight normally.
Tim would struggle badly whenever the two of you chose different paths. He would be accustomed to your lives moving in parallel, and any divergence could feel like abandonment even when he knew rationally that it was not.
You would be his best defence against self-destruction. Tim could lie to everyone else about how long he had been awake, but you would recognise the exact cadence his voice developed after forty hours without sleep.
He would also know when you were pretending to be fine. There would be no dramatic interrogation. He would simply place a drink beside you, sit down and say, “You don’t have to explain it yet.”
Tim might forget his own birthday, but never yours (lol they're the same). Gifts would be oddly specific, expensive despite his attempts to conceal the price, and based on something you mentioned once fourteen months earlier.
damian wayne
Being raised as twins within the League would make your bond extraordinarily complicated. You would be companions, rivals, sparring partners and each other’s only source of unconditional loyalty in an environment where affection was treated as weakness.
The League would compare you constantly. Every lesson, test and injury would become another measure of which twin was stronger. Damian would hate anyone declaring you inferior, even during periods when the two of you were barely speaking.
As children, you might fight viciously over rankings, but the moment an instructor punished one of you too harshly, the other would become feral. No one was permitted to hurt your twin except you, and even you had rules.
Damian would know your fighting style better than his own. He could identify you while blindfolded by your breathing, foot placement and the sound your weapon made leaving its sheath.
When one of you was injured, the other would sit nearby under the pretence of guarding the room. Neither of you would admit it was comfort. Affection in the League often wore armour because neither of you had been taught how to hold it safely.
Arriving in Gotham together would intensify Damian’s adjustment. He would feel responsible for ensuring you were respected by Bruce and the others, even while competing with you for the Robin mantle.
There would be genuine conflict if only one of you became Robin. Damian might view it as proof that Bruce valued one twin more, no matter how often he was told otherwise. Eventually, he would understand that a title could not define either of your worth—but the lesson would hurt.
Damian would insult you with a creativity reserved exclusively for siblings.
“Your posture is appalling.”
“We have the same posture.”
“Mine is regal. Yours is a cry for help.”
Despite his complaints, he would instinctively make space for you beside him. At dinner, in the Batmobile, during family meetings—you would always have a place, even if he claimed your presence was merely “tolerable.”
Animals would adore both of you, and Damian would turn it into another competition. Titus choosing to rest his head on your lap would be treated as a personal betrayal.
As adults, the two of you would become frighteningly devoted to one another. Damian might criticise every decision you made, but he would also cross countries overnight if your voice sounded wrong during a phone call.
You would be the person who could remind him that he was more than the heir, more than Robin and more than the weapon he had been trained to become. You were there before every title. To Damian, that would make you permanent.
duke thomas
You and Duke would have the kind of twin dynamic built from constant banter and effortless teamwork. You could roast one another for hours, but the instant someone else joined in too aggressively, both of you would turn on them.
Duke would be the twin who tried to remain optimistic for both of you. Even when Gotham became unbearable, he would keep finding small pockets of light—a rooftop sunrise, a ridiculous meme, a new place to get breakfast after patrol.
During your parents’ illness, you would become one another’s anchor. Duke would try to carry too much and shield you from his fear, but you would recognise every crack in his composure because the same fear lived inside you.
He would never treat you as fragile. Duke respected resilience too much for that. His protectiveness would instead sound like, “I know you can handle it. You shouldn’t have to handle it alone.”
If your powers developed alongside his, there would be several months of experimental chaos. You would test boundaries together, keep shared notes and accidentally blind at least one Batfamily member during training.
Duke would be delighted by the possibility of twin-based superhero branding. Matching names, coordinated suits, dramatic combination moves—the branding potential would be exquisite. Bruce would veto most of it. Duke would continue designing logos anyway.
He would be easy to talk to, even when the subject was painful. Duke could sit beside you in silence without making it feel empty, then casually say something so perceptive that it cracked open everything you had been avoiding.
You would occasionally feel one another’s emotions so accurately that the others would assume it was another metahuman ability. It was not. Duke just knew the shape of your silences.
He would hype you up shamelessly. Every achievement would be announced to the family as though you had personally saved the universe. If you became embarrassed, he would only become louder.
cassandra cain
Your bond with Cass would exist long before either of you possessed the words to describe it. As children trained through movement rather than language, you would communicate through gestures, breathing and the subtle shifts of the body.
You would understand one another with an intimacy that unsettled your trainers. A glance could communicate fear. A hand hovering near the wrist could mean stay. The slightest change in stance could become an entire warning.
If David Cain attempted to turn you against one another, it would fail. You might be forced to spar, but neither of you would strike with the intent he demanded. The two of you would learn to make violence look convincing while quietly protecting each other from the worst of it.
Cass would be protective in a very physical, instinctive way. She would place herself between you and danger before consciously deciding to move. Her body would recognise threats to you as threats to herself.
After escaping, learning language together would be deeply emotional. The two of you might practise words late at night, laughing through mistakes and choosing names for things you had only ever understood through sensation.
Cass would love quiet affection: leaning her shoulder into yours, linking your fingers, resting her head against you during films. She would never feel obligated to perform closeness because you already understood it without proof.
You could not lie to her. You could attempt it, certainly. Cass would watch your shoulders tighten and immediately sign, No.
She would also be unable to hide her feelings from you, despite being nearly unreadable to everyone else. You would see happiness in the looseness of her hands and grief in the way she carried her weight.
If one of you began developing a life outside the other, there might be a period of insecurity. Your closeness had once been necessary for survival. Learning that independence did not equal abandonment would be difficult—but freeing.
The two of you dancing together would be breathtaking. No choreography would be required. You would simply know where the other intended to move, each motion becoming a conversation spoken through the body.
stephanie brown
Being Steph’s twin would mean growing up as co-conspirators. The two of you would survive your father, your chaotic home life and Gotham itself through humour sharp enough to become armour.
Steph would insist that she was the evil twin. Her evidence would consist entirely of stealing your fries and once replacing your shampoo with glitter gel.
She would be aggressively affectionate. Surprise hugs, linked arms, collapsing dramatically across your lap and entering your room without knocking would all be standard sibling behaviour.
When she became Spoiler, she would try to keep it from you. Unfortunately for her, subtlety had never been Stephanie Brown’s primary export. You would find purple fabric, bruises and half-finished maps hidden around the house within days.
If you joined her, the two of you would be Gotham’s loudest patrol duo. Criminals would be forced to endure synchronised taunting while being kicked unconscious.
Steph would be fiercely defensive of your right to define yourself independently from her. After years of being judged through her father’s reputation, she would never allow anyone to reduce either twin to a comparison.
She would sometimes become insecure if you appeared more successful or more readily accepted by the Batfamily. The jealousy would make her feel horrible, and she might withdraw before eventually admitting the truth. Your reassurance would mean more to her than anyone else’s because you understood where the fear began.
Steph would celebrate every tiny victory with you. Finished an assignment? Waffles. Survived a bad day? Waffles. Did not text an ex? Expensive waffles—you had demonstrated historic restraint.
Beneath all the jokes, Stephanie would love you with startling ferocity. You were the first person who saw how hard she fought to remain hopeful, and she would spend her entire life making sure the world never managed to extinguish that hope in you.

You wake up early in the morning and get ready for uni or work. You sit at your desk doing makeup and then hear soft footsteps before he leans against the doorway of your bedroom. His expression is softer than usually, his eyes filled with affection and love, because once in the past he begged for times like this. For warmth and someone to share it with, before life decided otherwise. He wasn’t a machine, he swore it… he hoped you didn’t see him as one either.
He watches you, with sun rays catching his skin and hair, illuminating his beautiful eyes. You always wondered how can a man be so beautiful. He’s holding two mugs with coffee, before walking over to you and setting one down. It’s your favourite—of course it is. He wouldn’t make any less than your favourite. You deserved the best and he would tend to your every need, even as simple as this specific coffee.
Now that his hand is free, he caresses your back, plays with your pyjamas, kisses your head and neck and shoulders. Sweet distraction. You swat at his hand—I’ll be late—but he just chuckles and holds you tighter. Your scent fills his nose and it’s like a personal drug, flooding his system with so much undeniable love that scares him. Your presence, however, makes him feel safe enough to jump off that bridge each time and just drown in the feeling he once swore to never feel. It’s in the way you smile, or look at him with a glimmer in your eyes. Or how you listen to him whenever he needs it. And, oh, how perfectly your body fits with his, and your sweet noises when he makes you feel good, late at night or early in the morning, and, and--
You are late that morning, but he’s not sorry. If he could, he’d keep you away from everyone else so you could bless him with few more minutes of your time just so he could fall in love with you again and again.

"so, you meant to show with glitter on you?" he questions with a tilted head. damians glare weighs large.
"explain."
tim rolls his eyes. reaching up to carefully stick the gleam onto the tip of his finger. "this. you try dresses before hand?"
jason laughs, loud enough passbyers double take at the small gather of the family. raised brows and hushed words are ignored in favor for damians reaction.
"..that doesnt belong to me."
jason pries. "who then, whose the poor lady?"
like damian would open his mouth on the whereabouts of the two of you. his family would know absolutely nothing. your involvement was strictly priva— did he just insult you?
"she is not poor." muscles tense as his jaw locks. teeth solid against each other. "repeatedly has she stated she enjoys the company i provide. now drop it." he steps away, large back blending with the tide of the crowd. anger fizzing around the air.
