Lil psycho

The following are my immediate notes after the series finale of “Game Of Thrones”. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.

1-8 years of Jamie character development thrown out the window (or under the rocks). 2-Cersei died by…rocks? There were so many other choices like Tyrion (remember the prophecy? Apparently the writers didn’t), Jamie, Drogon, Arya, or pneumonia..but..rocks? Seriously?

3-What was the point of Cersei being pregnant? 4-Sansa should have ruled Westoros. Bran has shown no emotional depth or human attachment. (Noone even missed him when he was written out for a year). 5-Tyrion speech had my eyes glaze over…“What unites people?” Tyrion asked. “Armies? Gold? Flags?” Nah. “Stories.”  WTF? “No enemy can defeat it”. And with that he nominates Bran because he fell out of window and then became and became a tree. Let’s totally forget what Sansa and Arya have been through the past 8 years.

6-Greyworm had no objection to the council of Westeros deciding that one of them would be the new leader? Really? Guess the Dothraki were “gee okay” with that decision too. 7-Why did Dany glare at Jon like she wanted to kill him in one scene then wanting to trip the light fantastic naked with him in the next? 8-Why did Drogon set fire to the Iron Throne when it was Jon that killed Dany? Drogon should have fried Jon’s ass. We have been given no inkling over 8 years that the dragons have subjective thought and no indication that their intelligence level rises above “Burn their asses”. 9-Arya is going West of Westoros because…um..why? 10-What was the point of Jon’s resurrection? 11-Who is the person with green eyes that we kinda led to believe that she would kill? 12-I just don’t buy Dany going Mad Queen all of a sudden like that. Like Tyrion said, she only killed evil people, not innocent people. If they wanted to go that way then they should built that up over several episodes. 13-I think the decision to have less episodes at a greater run time was a bad one. They could have easily divived the episodes into 10 seperate ones like the first 6 seasons and given us more CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT to propel the plot. The last two seasons were just a big rush job to move the chessboard pieces around.

I keep telling myself that it’s the journey that counted and I reflect on how much I loved the show in the first few years. But in the end that’s what makes the endgame such a headspinning and often sad affair. Goodbye Game Of Thrones. You will be missed.
