Another cadet hit the ground with a painful grunt. Lohen's lips curled into familiar manic grin. A soft, barely audible giggle drifted across the training grounds.

Everyone went silent. And everyone slowly turned toward the baby strapped to Lohen's chest.

"Almost the same laugh", one cadet whispered. The baby happily flailed their tiny hands, soft laughter bubbling out of them the moment they caught their dad's attention. "I guess we won't be needing a DNA test", he added jokingly to his friends with an amused grin.

The looks they gave him were enough to remind him that this probably wasn't the best joke to make right now. He immediately straightened up, clearing his throat. Lohen, however, couldn't have cared less.

He was already looking down, visibly pleased.

"Good eye", he said proudly. "That was a clean hit, hm?"

"Vice-captain", another cadet said carefully. "I... i don't think it's healthy for a baby to find violence entertaining."

Lohen shrugged.

"They're just appreciating proper technique."

"But—"

"And they're already an excellent judge of combat. I raised them well, hm?".

Flins, who freezes when asked what you looked like, because he genuinely can't remember, and it shattered his heart when he realised that. Who begged to remember even little bits of you.

Neuvillette, whose voice stumbles when Sigwinne asks what you were like back then, the human who guided and taught him the world, who took care of him, someone that precious, yet he can't remember what you were like besides that.
